-Alchemy equipment and research – Check.
-Blacksmithing equipment and new armor as well as weapons made – Check.
I can finally start my research regarding plagues without any more fuking trouble.
But still… I have zero fuking clue about the plagues.
I mean, sure I did some research at the start, to get a good grasp of the plague abilities, but so far, I have not done any proper research yet.
So far, I learned that making the plague is bit similar to the alchemy in some areas and that was one of the reason why I was focusing on the alchemy before going straight for the plagues since I needed some data.
However overall, its bit weird.
So, I guess it will take me some time to learn.
There is also another problem.
Unlike alchemy or blacksmithing where you can get a general idea what to do or may ask some NPCs for the help or just buy a guide for the dummies like I did or even skills that helps you a bit in crafting, the plague research doesn't have anything like that.
Meaning, I have to do everything from the scratch.
Well, not exactly since my experience with alchemy came in handy.
Still, I did needed to make different things that can be used for the plague making. I even made a bad made stuff so I can see what things can change.
But before we dive into the plague creation, there are several things that needs to be explained.
The plagues that I can make can have things like [First Form]. [Properties]. [Effect].
The first form is about the plague form when its released, for example like a liquid or smoke.
The effect is simple put, the effect that the plagues gives.
For example, when I made plague using green dandelions, the plague had a slow effect like green dandelion.
Or when I made a plague using healing grass, it instead had an effect of regeneration, unlike the instant heal of the potions.
And the last if not most important: Properties.
This is like an symptoms, characteristics and nature of the plague.
For example, a characteristic of spreading like a diseases from touching or having a corpse emit the plague.
These characteristics can make the plague spread more easily or make it stronger in some conditions, however some are two edged and for example make the plague bit weaker.
Beside those 3 things, there is also important fact that I can store it within my skill AND its automatically regenerated.
However, It takes way too long to even regenerate even a single bit and the amount I can store inside the skill is also small like hell… So pretty much the regeneration over time is quiet extremely useless and the storage part as well.
Maybe if I level up the skill, it will at least get a BIT better?
Well, I doubt it would get somewhat big change after 1 or 2 levels…. So, yea…. I have to make plagues manually using materials over and over if I want to use them.
Maybe the small reserve and the shitty regeneration was made to balance this ability out or something? Or maybe it's just that shitty because its low level?
Well, the only way to find out is to level up that skill.
Anyway, the plague I'm aiming for needs two things.
It need to be deadly.
And it needs to spread quiet easily.
However, to make anything harmful, I need to use harmful materials.
I have few harmful materials and a lot of it, but there are few problems.
The first problem is that the stuff you can get at the start, so I doubt they can be very dangerous from get go, meaning it will take some time to make it into useful plague.
The second problem is that I have only 6 things that can be harmful…. Well technically 5, since the green dandelion sucks too much.
Most of the materials I have that are harmful are from the sewers and those rats.
The other stuff harmful stuff I have beside the green dandelion and the rats' materials is the Grey Nettle.
Its poisons plant that also gives you a slow…. But the effects are extremely weak to the point its useful as the green dandelion.
However, if I combine it the green dandelion and the dark cave moss, I can create a numbing poison that reduces target SP (Stamina).
This thing by itself seem to suck alongside the green dandelion, but maybe they are only bit useful if you mix them up with something?
Either way, the thing I need to focus on is the sewer rats' materials.
The first few experiments with the sewer rats' materials were…. Successful to say the least.
[Weak Sewer Rat Poison]
[Effect: Apply Poison – Deals 2 damage for 15 seconds.]
The effect was quite weak, with only dealing 30 damage in total, but still I made it this way since I wanted to mess around.
This poison is simple sewer rat poison I got from its organ.
I used the weak poison potion as well as mixed few stuff like the mana grass or the moss, getting different results.
By the look of things, boiling the rat poison makes it much weaker, so I have to be carefully while liquefying the materials or it will make the poison weaker.
The sewer rats' other materials beside the organs were also effective.
[Sewer Rat Stomach Potion] – [Used sewer rat meat.]
[Effect: Decrees resistance to the poison by 2% and inflict poison - Deals 2 damage for 15 seconds.]
[Sewer Rat Ill Potion] – [Used sewer rat fur.]
[Effect: Decrees SP by 15.]
[Sewer Rat Mushroom Potion]
[Restore 15 HP and inflict Poison - Deals 2 damage for 10 seconds.]
The fur and the meat as well as mushroom, just like the description stated were indeed a harmful substances.
The things I made were quiet half assed though. Well, they were experimental stuff, but still its not that bad if the half assed stuff I made is like that.
Once I made a proper version, it should get better AND once I do hang of using them, I can start maybe mixing them up.
Honestly, I began experimenting and improving the potions to the point that the normal potion had some decent poison damage.
However, I did ended up wasting few ingredients.
The rat stuff is bit more… Delicant than I thought?
But still, I at least got a hang of it.
I did ended up using a lot of materials from get go. But good thing I have a lot of them stocked up.
And if I do run out of them, I can go back to the sewers and hunt those rats again.
This time, I have both higher level AND now I have a proper equipment, meaning that I won't fuking spend hours in there.
Anyway, I found out something interesting.
By the look of things, the stuff from the rats seems very vurnable to the fire.
So maybe the rats have a weakness to the fire as well?
Well I do use a poison, so they are bad match up for me, but if I bring a torch or something, won't I have easy time killing those rats?
Huh…. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FUKING USEFULL TO KNOW THAT BEFORE I WENT AND HUNTED THOSE BASTARDS!
For fuck's sake!
Why the fuck the city guards didn't said anything about that! It would make hunting…. Wait, did they knew that these rats are weak to fire?
…
Hm… I wonder… I wonder if I can sell this information to the players and guards for some…. Nah.
It will make leveling up for the players much faster if they find out about this and I don't want it.
But that doesn't mean I cannot abuse this weakness…. Wait a fuking second.
Doesn't that mean I can just go on rampage in the sewers, get necessary materials for the plague creation and research and level up a lot? All in one go?
…
Huh…. That was… Bit unexpected, but okay?
Well, for now let's focus on the alchemy and plagues, since I'm already focused on it.
The research to make the sewer rat poison stronger did however used up a lot of different materials and stuff.
Not only the rat stuff, but I also mixed other stuff I had at hand, even the stuff related to the healing potions to see different effects.
I tried also mixing all the stuff from the sewers, mushrooms, fur, organ and meat and I got to say…. Wow. This is nasty.
[Sewer Rat Mixed Poison]
[Rarity: Common]
[A poison made out of entire sewer rat parts as well as other stuff to the point of creating this unhealthy poison.]
[Effect:
-Inflict poison – Deal 5 damage for every 1 second for 15 seconds.]
(Huh…. 5 damage for 15 seconds, that means 75 damage in total.)
(It may not seem like much.)
(HOWEVER!)
(This is not refined version and its straight up the alpha version.)
(In other words, I can make it better once I refined it and make it much stronger.)
(Not only that, but that thing gave me a way more useful data than I though to the point it will make handling the rat materials much easier and I will be able to not waste so many materials, once I get hang of it and perfect it.)
(And there is interesting through.)
(What would happened if I mixed the already made perfected basic poisons together? Or what about mixing the potions with raw materials?)
(It maybe possible to create something even deadlier or maybe something I'm aiming for.)
(I think I'm finally getting somewhere.)
(But this isn't enough.)
(For my plan to work, I need something even much stronger that this thing about 3 times its power or something close.)
(Usually, the players starts with 10 health stat, meaning that they have 100 HP.)
(The same goes for the NPCs.)
(The higher level ones, even when not putting points, their health would be much higher.)
(So, the 75 damage of total is not enough at all, I need something WAY stronger.)
(Not only that, I need to research different type of poisons I can make, so I can experiment with them as well as practice plague making with them.)
(The rat fur maybe be useful for the numbing poison.)
(Maybe if I mix an improved version of the numbing poison alongside the perfect version of the sewer rat poison, I maybe able to create a plague that would extremely dangerous.)
(…)
"But fuck me."
(I know that I had a lot of materials at the start and all, but I was doing those research for hours now.)
(Creation poisons and potions is one thing, but plagues are another since they end up eating both the poisons and potions that I use for the plague creation.)
(But overall, I ended up way more materials than I through.)
(…)
(Making poison and potions is one thing, but making plagues is another.)
(I did ended up creating some good or interesting poisons AND I used them to create plagues that ended up making me learn a lot about the plagues.)
(But that plague training as well as research to see what I can make is finally kicking in.)
(I sacrificed a LOT of materials a lot of stuff for the plague training and research, but I think I get a good picture on how to make it the way I want. I still need to do few experiments regarding specific plague and use materials for testing, BUT I now at least know the basics and other stuff regarding plague creation.)
(So…. The plague creation training is over?)
(Well, that is good, but I still need an poison that can be consider an real "Threat" to the people.)
(I know how to refine the mixed sewer rat poison and all, but I need to test few other things and see other reactions as well as try to have different effects and mix different materials and potions together like numbing potion.)
(Not only that, I need to make few more of each for the plague research and tests.)
(…)
"Well."
"I know how and what to make."
"I know where to aim."
"I finally understand the basic of the plague crafting and some other stuff."
"I got titles related to the alchemy and my own alchemy related skills leveled up a lot."
"So the research today helped me to become much better alchemist AS WELL AS make me an proper plague maker."
"So pretty much I should be able to handle alchemy, poison making and the plague making without much problem now."
"…"
"But that entire training and experimenting to make me a better alchemist and the plague maker ended up using shit tons of stuff…."
"…."
"Yea… I mean it was 100% worth it using everything like an idiot without the care…. But I have no more materials…"
"…."
"Yea…. I guess I will need to go back to the sewers soon than I planned."
