Daji, the Nine-tailed true demon fox from primal chaos who died during the war of gods and demons suddenly woke up as the Kyuubi.
She then was sealed inside Naruto.
She had seen what humans did to the boy and it hurt her badly because she always wanted to have a kid of her own.
She blamed herself for what happened to him so she decided she would do everything in her power to help him.
"I will be your mother that you never have Naruto-chan."
Thus she became his secret stepmother!
