Chương 21: Chapter 21 - The Beginning of the U.S.J. Incident

(Nero POV)

We exchanged our uniforms for our hero costumes, except for Midoriya, whose outfit had been destroyed by Bakugou.

At this moment, I was standing in front of the bus. As class president, I had instructed everyone to sit in pairs.

"Where are we going to do rescue training?" Ochaco asked in her costume, placing her finger near her soft lips.

"It must be a place with the structure for this." Considering the money and power that Yuuei has, that would be easy.

As I had that thought, something passed by me.

To be more exact, a pair of gloves and boots without any visible body.

If I hadn't known that this "ghost" was from our class, I would have had a small heart attack by now.

This "ghost" is Toru Hagakure. The fact that her body is invisible is due to her Quirk.

"Hello, Nero!" Toru said amicably.

"Hello, Toru," I replied with a slight smile.

Even with a Quirk that complicates her life, she is quite cheerful.

Now that everyone had finally gathered on the bus, I gave the order for them to board in pairs and sit wherever they thought best. After a few minutes, everyone was seated quietly. Once Aizawa-sensei confirmed that everyone was ready, he gave the order for the robot driver to take us to our destination.

Suddenly, Tsu turned her head to Midoriya with a curious look, although her face remained expressionless.

"Midoriya, I have a question that's been on my mind," Tsu said, looking at Midoriya.

"Ah?! Asui!" The most nervous boy in the class looked at Tsu with wide eyes in surprise. At least he could talk without burning his brain.

"What do you want to ask?"

"Call me Tsuyu, and I was thinking...your Quirk looks like All Might's," Tsu said with the same deadpan expression.

"Ah?! N-No! I mean... Are you sure about this?!" exclaimed the always nervous Midoriya, as if they had discovered his biggest secret.

"Oh wait! But All Might never get hurt!" Kirishima intervened, refuting Tsu's theory. "Midoriya's punches indeed have a lot of power, but they don't look like All Might's."

"Y-yes...hehe," Midoriya laughed nervously as he looked down at his legs and ignored the conversation.

"Besides, the chances of Midoriya having the same Quirk as All Might are minuscule," I said, leaning back lazily in my chair. "But it's not impossible."

Tsu nodded in agreement with me.

"Guys, changing the subject, who's your favorite hero? Mine is Crimson Riot," Kirishima exclaimed happily.

"I think for most people, it would be All Might, right?" Tsu placed her finger near her mouth while tilting her head cutely.

"Yes!" For the first time, Izuku raised his voice. He's actually a die-hard All Might fan.

"I disagree," Kamala said, crossing her arms over her chest. "Don't get me wrong, All Might is a great hero, but for me, there is someone better than him." Kamala shook her head.

"Who?" Izuku, who couldn't believe what he heard, asked curiously.

"Why don't you try to guess?" Kamala found it amusing.

Some girls started throwing out different names, but no one got it right. The only one who could guess was sleeping on my shoulder—none other than Gwen.

"None of you know," Kamala said, giving a teasing smile, and turned to face me. "What about you, Nero?"

"It's easy enough," I said, looking into her eyes.

"So, what would it be?"

"Captain Marvel."

Kamala gaped. "How do you know?! Don't tell me you're a stalker?" She looked me up and down, silently judging me.

I let out a sigh and gave her a light pat on the head. "Don't accuse people of a crime."

Kamala rubbed her forehead, giving me a slightly resentful look. "Then how do you know?"

"For the simple fact that your hero costume is heavily based on hers, you have the same lightning bolt on your chest as her uniform."

"Oh! Congratulations, you're really good," she said honestly, clapping her hands. "But who's your favorite pro-hero?" Kamala asked curiously.

"Tornado of Terror!" I responded with a smile.

"What?!" some exclamations of surprise echoed.

You see, even though Tatsumaki, better known as Tornado of Terror, is the number 2 ranked heroine, she is not well regarded by the media due to her bold, temperamental, impetuous, and impatient personality. She is disrespectful towards most people, especially those she considers incompetent, like much of the media.

Because she constantly offends people who try to get a recording of her, the media itself has started to hate her, which she just doesn't seem to care about.

"Why?" Izuku asked.

"Who knows!?" I shrugged, making the blonde lying on my shoulder complaint. Ochaco, who knew the reason, just laughed lightly.

Without saying anything else, I tilted my head back, making some people quite curious.

After some conversations and an angry outburst from Bakugo, we finally arrived at a place that looked as big as a football stadium—no, much bigger than a football stadium, maybe at least ten of them.

"How come Yuuei has so much land?" I thought, with a perplexed look.

Upon entering the place, they could see several different areas: mountains, burning buildings, a large lake, and a large cave, among many others. Waiting for them was the special guest, who was none other than...

Thirteen! The space hero!

"Welcome, aspiring heroes, to the USJ! Or better known as the Unforeseen Simulation Joint!" Thirteen exclaimed in a friendly and polite manner, earning a few smiles from the class.

Ochaco seemed especially excited about the hero's appearance. "Since you know we're going to do rescue training, you only need to know one... or two... or three... or four things," said Thirteen, increasing the number of things they need to know for this training, causing some students to start sweating while others took it with humor. "Well, a couple of things."

Aizawa suddenly approached Thirteen as he quickly looked around. "Hey, Thirteen...where's All Might?" Thirteen held up three fingers as he muttered.

"Apparently he was a little late and will be here later."

I heard this while the students were talking among themselves, excited to meet another pro hero, so they didn't notice this exchange, except for four students: Shoto Todoroki, Midoriya Izuku, Bakugo Katsuki, and me.

After that, a conversation ensued about the responsibilities of heroes and the proper use of Quirks during rescue operations. About how Quirks can easily be used to kill, steal, or kidnap, and about their proper use in society.

That's pretty obvious, isn't it?

That's literally why a villain is a villain.

I was lost in my thoughts when, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a small, dark purple mist appear in the middle of the USJ square. Suddenly, the fog expanded quickly, and many strangely dressed people began to emerge.

"Aizawa-sensei," I shouted, pointing.

Aizawa-sensei quickly assessed the situation, and her expression turned serious.

"GROUP TOGETHER AND DON'T MOVE! Thirteen, PROTECT THE STUDENTS!" Aizawa-sensei commanded with unprecedented seriousness, putting on his glasses.

Things just got complicated...

Before I could finish my thoughts, I felt a delicate hand on my face, accompanied by a soft voice.

"You've grown up. Let's see if you deserve to be her son."

"Who are you?" demanded Aizawa-sensei.

But before he could act, I simply disappeared from that place. The last thing I heard was:

"Nero!!!"

(Aizawa POV)

In front of me, one of my students had just disappeared.

"Nero!!!" Ochaco exclaimed loudly.

"Calm down!" I shouted, maybe even to myself. "He's fine," I said, not quite sure of my own words.

"Aizawa-sensei is right, Ochaco. Nero will be fine since he is the strongest," Gwen said, calming Ochaco, who was almost inconsolable.

Gwen's words really did calm her.

"What's going on, Professor? Is this some kind of test?" Eijiro asked, beads of sweat running down his head.

"Don't move! They're... Villains!" I said, putting on my glasses.

"Eraserhead and Thirteen..." a purple shadow exclaimed, turning its eyes towards us. "According to the teachers' CV, we acquired yesterday, All Might should be here."

Tsk! I clicked my tongue.

That mess yesterday wasn't the press, it was these villains.

"So yesterday, that was the work of you troublemakers," I said, analyzing the situation we were in.

There are at least dozens of villains.

The priority in this situation is my students. In that case, I need to take care of it.

I thought, loosening the capture cloth.

Meanwhile, a white-haired man with a hand on his face tilted his head back.

"Where is he? We did all this work and brought many of us together to this point. You can't tell me that All Might, the symbol of peace... isn't here," his distorted voice had a disappointed tone.

This guy is definitely the leader of the villains.

"I wonder if he'll show up if I kill the kids," he said with intensity, making almost every student behind me tremble.

There's nothing left to think about.

Moving my hand, I held the cloth with both hands while facing the three villains, who were definitely the strongest: the white-haired guy with several hands on his body, the dark blue monster, and the purple shadow.

"Thirteen, initiate the evacuation procedure! These villains know how to bypass the alarms. There's a chance there's someone with electromagnetic wave capabilities trying to block it," I said, taking a step forward.

"Sensei, are you going to fight them alone!? What about Nero?" Midoriya asked, cold sweat running down his face.

My fighting style is to capture the bad guys after erasing their quirks. With so many villains, this will only increase the difficulty. But I am a pro-hero. I turned slightly toward Midoriya.

"Don't worry about me; after all, a hero always has more than one trick up his sleeve! Now, about Nero..."

Before I could speak, Ochaco stepped forward.

"Sensei, don't worry. He is and will be fine; I guarantee that," she said, clenching her hands tightly.

Although there was concern in Ochaco's eyes, there was also a gleam of confidence in Nero.

I nodded with a slight smile on my lips and then moved forward, jumping down the stairs.

"All right, firing squad; let's go," one of the villains said, pointing his hand at me, which had holes in it.

Other villains followed; it was quite obvious that they possessed long-range quirks.

I just looked at them using my [Erasure] quirk, which simply allows me to cancel the quirks of anyone I look at.

"What? I can't shoot," said one of the villains, pointing at me with a hand that had holes in it.

I positioned myself between them, wrapping my capture cloth around them and pulling their bodies against each other.

"Erased!" a villain with a huge body shouted. "You can erase quirks, but can you erase mutant-type ones like mine?" he exclaimed as I turned towards him and charged at him.

"No, I can't erase mutants," I said, burying my fist in his face and knocking him back.

"My quirk only works on emitting and transformation types," I said, wrapping my sash around him.

Meanwhile, another villain tried to attack me from behind, but I simply tilted my body and turned, launching the villain tied to the cloth towards the other villains.

His large body smashed into the villains, knocking them all down.

"And that's why I invented a countermeasure," I said, my eyes darting from villain to villain.

My students were impressed, but Thirteen snapped them out of their shock by making them leave that area.

Good choice, Thirteen...

At that moment, the shadow man appeared in that place.

Shit! In the blink of an eye, he...! It seems he is the one who poses the biggest threat. I need to help...

"Where do you think you're going, Eraser?" A villain said, punching me.

I dodged while erasing his quirk; my clothes wrapped around his arm, and I pulled him to the floor. I was surrounded by five villains. I dodged their blows, erasing their quirks. My punch collided with one's face; my kick landed in another's stomach.

Meanwhile, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the purple man expanding and covering my students. Suddenly, all the students who were covered by the darkness disappeared.

I began to feel desperate, but I managed to remain calm, seeing Midoriya falling into the flood zone while Cassandra fell in the same area as me.

I see, it's just a space quirk.

I thought, dodging a blow while looking at Cassandra, who without hesitation was dealing with the villains surrounding her.

"What was it, hero? Desperate for his students who will be killed," the white-haired man exclaimed, pointing his finger at me.

I moved my hand past my head.

"Hahahahahaha! Don't be an idiot. These are students from 1-A. You should be worried about these second-rate villains," I said, confident in my students.
