"Haaaa…!" The sudden outburst from the little emperor pierced through the cacophony of clashing weapons, enveloping the room in an eerie silence once more. All eyes turned towards him, captivated by this unexpected display of assertiveness. It was a contrast of his previous demeanour, leaving the onlookers and the chancellor alike in suspense, wondering what his actions were about.
For the chancellor, this unexpected interruption brought his relentless march to a halt once more, causing him to lose track of the number of times he had been thwarted in his steps from the moment he started.
In a moment of quiet contemplation, the little emperor's gaze fell upon a seemingly vacant corner of the hall, an unassuming alleyway that whispered of hidden possibilities. With a swift yet deliberate gesture, he uttered a command that reverberated through the room, eliciting a collective shock of astonishment from the onlookers.
The atmosphere crackled with tension as the young emperor's actions hinted at a strategic move that could potentially alter the course of the struggle. As the room braced for the repercussions of his command, the little emperor stood poised at the precipice of a pivotal moment, his resolve palpable in the charged air around him while the room waited for the enactment of the little emperor's order to be revealed.
Initially, in a moment of anger, he spoke and commanded, "Bring them out," directing his voice towards the empty alleyway. This action left everyone in shock, with the impression that there was something hidden that they had not seen or noticed.
A group of soldiers swiftly strode in, clad in armour identical to the trio who had stood against the chancellor, causing the hall's crowd to marvel. The little emperor had not only won the trio to his side but had additional forces at his disposal. However, the crowd suspected that there was another surprise yet to be revealed.
Soon after, another group of soldiers entered and positioned themselves behind the first group, followed by yet another group lining up behind them. This sequence continued, revealing an emerging army that had been concealed in the shadows.
The crowd was left perplexed, with sweat forming on their foreheads, as they struggled to comprehend the situation that unfolded before them. The sudden appearance of a large number of soldiers, seemingly loyal to the little emperor, was beyond their imagination. They could only attribute it to the power of the seal, which seemed to have facilitated the soldiers' easy submission.
The chancellor's heart sank as he witnessed the unfolding events, realizing that his hopes were beginning to crumble before his eyes.
With a loud shout that shook the hall, he expressed his grievance towards the little emperor, accusing him of cunningness despite his young age. Pointing at him, the chancellor exclaimed, "You little brat, you are so clever for your age. Aren't you just five...!"
In response, the little emperor chuckled and replied, "Chancellor, you flatter me. If I were five, I wouldn't be smarter than you. But do not worry, this is not the surprise I have in store for you."
As suspected by the crowd, the soldiers' appearance was not the true surprise; it was merely a display of the power standing by the little emperor.
The chancellor's eyes darted around nervously, and when he glanced at the alleyway where the soldiers had entered, a chill ran through his body, as well as the other dignitaries, who involuntarily gasped in shock.
"This...," they exclaimed.
"Daddy!" a girl suddenly cried out.
"Xia!" one of the dignitaries shouted, bursting forth from the crowd in an attempt to reach his daughter. However, his movement was halted as a soldier menacingly pressed his sword against the girl's throat.
"What is the meaning of this?" all the dignitaries began questioning the little emperor's actions, as they realized that their families had been captured right before their eyes.
The chancellor saw his two women and his young son forced down to their knees with swords at their throats. Helpless, they looked back at him, their fear evident in the beads of sweat forming on their foreheads. Only he could save them from this dire situation.
Feeling defeated and unable to act without the aid of his personal troops, the chancellor wanted to plead for the young emperor not to go that far. But despite this, he only managed to cried out defiantly, "Brat, what are you doing...!"
Seated back on his throne, the little emperor's anger had already subsided as he relish in the shock on their faces.
"Ha ha... Chancellor, I was just joking," the little emperor laughed, waving his hand at the soldiers holding the families captive.
Upon his gesture, the soldiers sheathed their weapons and released the captives they held. At that moment, the families rushed out of the hall, a mix of trepidation and gratitude evident in their expressions as they realized they were unharmed.
The dignitaries stood in stunned silence, their voices rendered silent by the shocking turn of events unfolding before them. Moments earlier, they had been gripped with worry as they witnessed their beloved families being held captive in front of their eyes. Before they could even contemplate bargaining or protesting against this brazen act, their loved ones were unexpectedly released, leaving them bewildered and questioning the sudden reversal of fortune.
The significance of the little emperor's cunning and strategic mind became unmistakably clear to all present. No longer would anyone dare to underestimate the depth of his shrewdness.
"I have done nothing wrong," the little emperor remarked casually and calmly, his demeanor nonchalant as he raised his hands in a dismissive shrug. His words, delivered with a sense of ease and confidence, conveyed by a subtle control, leaving those around him to ponder the true extent of his capabilities.
