A few days later, a large package arrived for me, bearing the unmistakable seal of Dumbledore. Inside, I found a collection of physics books and a small bag of candy that the headmaster sends with every letter. I wonder if the old wizard owns some form of white van as they are the only people I could think of that offer this much candy to children.

My next experiment was more ambitious. I created a small platform with the gravity rune inscribed on its underside. After a few adjustments, the platform began to levitate. I added control runes for directional movement and tested the platform's stability by placing small objects on it. The platform responded smoothly to my commands, moving up, down, and side to side with ease. I even managed to sit on it, hovering a few feet above the ground. It was exhilarating and offered a glimpse of what personal flight could feel like. I wonder what runes broomsmiths use to create their floating devices—if it's the same gravity rune I have and all they have done for a hundred years is use it for sports and a wacky form of transportation, I was going to go all dark lord on them.

With that, I went to my room to sleep. Roughly ten minutes later, I heard a loud knock at the door. I got up from my bed to find out what was the matter, and there stood Draco. In his hands, he had a small stuffed dragon that he had begged Mom and Dad to buy him from a catalog. He had never touched the dragon after its arrival as it was too small, apparently. He looked at me and said, "Happy Birthday," before putting the dragon in my hands and running back to his room. Maybe my little bro wasn't so hopeless, I thought to myself, before going back to my bed and putting the little dragon onto my desk where I would be able to see him when I worked. I fell asleep with a smile on my face.

This year I gave Draco a "Where's Merlin" book. He seemed to have enjoyed the old wizard from MMaM and he had given me the idea back in the library. Two weeks ago, I had brought my handiwork to my father to get his opinion on what the cost of making this book would be and whether it would sell well. This led to another trip for him to the patent office. This marks the third patent under the "Nyx" name, with the lamps and MMaM both having large-scale success. The publishing rights for this book were sold to Flourish and Blotts, and within the month, this book would hit shelves. If it sold well, I would probably make a sequel with the whole cast. Future knowledge really comes in handy; I had beaten out "Where's Waldo" by about five years. I had written on the inside cover that this book was inspired by "my brother's adventurous spirit." I even decided to put 5% of the profit into a vault with his name on it out of the kindness of my own heart. I was, however, going to take that back if he didn't get me a birthday present next year.

The correspondence with Dumbledore was much more fruitful. Though he and I had different frameworks for the creation of artifacts, his advice was always easily incorporated into my designs, and he would mention the value of the things I provided and what he would try to do to improve them. He had especially loved the library system I had come up with and was willing to follow suit with indexing books following a similar system if I started to do it once I published. Snape must have also shown him the citations I had placed onto the homework I gave, and he saw the value in it as well. The so-called "Nyx Citation System" or NCS style was going to be passed around to the professors, who could choose whether or not they wanted students to follow it. If Dumbledore was trying to win me onto his side in a battle with my father, he was doing all the right things to do so.

Draco had recently discovered the concept of "sharing" but had interpreted it in a uniquely Draco way. For him, sharing meant that everyone shared with him, but he didn't necessarily have to share with anyone else. This led to quite a few comical incidents around the manor. One time, I had called Dobby over to prepare a plate of cookies and a cup of tea when I had been working on my circuits. Draco, being the bloodhound he is for treats, had entered the room not long after. He had just recently begun to put together sentences and was ready to put them to the test. "Draco, Share," he said towards me with a smug grin on his face. I was more than willing to give him a cookie, so I replied back, "Sure, take one." Draco proceeded to pick up the entire plate of cookies and try to leave the room as fast as his little legs would take him. I was initially in shock, but the strengthening of my body gave me the boost I needed to catch my robbing brother before he reached the door. I stood between him and the door, when the little guy did something I wasn't expecting. He licked all of the cookies on the plate except one. He then proceeded to give me one of the few he didn't lick, repeating "Draco, share," his signature grin once again appearing. I had to repeat to myself that I was an adult and that physical abuse wasn't the best way to discipline a child quite a few times in my head. I was so concentrated on trying not to kill the bugger that I didn't even notice him slip away.

After eating a lot of Ramen (Yuna doesn't bother counting anymore) Naruto was finally satisfied, so Yuna paid Teuchi and they left the restaurant to return home. On their way home, however, they heard some children yelling, which instantly made Naruto curious. He glanced at Yuna, effectively asking her for permission, which Yuna answered with a simple nod. After running for a moment, they saw what was happening. Three boys around the age of 9 were currently beating up a little girl with blue hair that looks around Naruto's age while cursing at her. Both Yuna and Naruto didn't need to see more. Without another word, they charged at the boys to dish out a beating.
