Moreover, as stated, the alliance all but guaranteed the support of Houses Baratheon and Arryn, as well as Tully. Effectively uniting the top half of Westeros against any threats, which amounts to approximately 215,000 soldiers according to semi-canon sources. also the North is perfectly situated to converge at a certain point on the Kingsroad with the River men and Knights of the Vale in a straight push to King's Landing from the North, while The Lannisters would push through the Gold Road from the west and the Baratheon forces through the Kingswood to the south. War, of course, won't be that easy to win, but Ned or Brandon would marry Catelyn, Jon, or his heirs would marry Lysa if Jaime doesn't. Robert will support whomever Ned Stark does.
