For now, Liam isn't a powerful enough vampire. However, as he evolves, he will gain the ability to create much more specialized and formidable minions. Nonetheless, these powers will have limits that you will discover as the story unfolds.

You don't like that kind of story, that's fine. But don't try to impose your fantasies of smooth, polished vampires. You're talking about a vampire who "drinks blood" and integrates into society—I would never write such a bland and smooth story. The vision of the charismatic and sophisticated vampire only appeared at the beginning of the 19th century. My story is brutal, and the hero is a real "villain," not a psychopath, but a survivor. Despite the fantasy wrapping, I make sure everything is as realistic as possible, down to the descriptions of deaths. So yes, my creatures devour flesh, and this is just the beginning. I won't write a soft and sanitized story because all my main characters have one thing in common: they truly exhibit behaviors that ensure their survival. You don't like monstrosities, but I do, and so do other readers. If you want characters that are "beautiful and elegant," go read romances for young teenagers.

A progenitor is one who brings a new race into existence. He is destined to create the vampire race in this world, with his creations bound to him by blood. Unlike other stories where progenitors are powerful from the start, he begins as a Lesser Vampire, vulnerable to sunlight, but can evolve more easily.

Eamon selected the term with great care, as it evokes the imagery of fire and luminosity in Latin. It's not a reference to the popular work Solo Leveling.
