Dude, the mc was an average joe before he found himself in Gilgamesh’s body. It is only natrual that he’d act differently than Gil. And I think this chapter is the wake-up call he needed to change for the better. It’s called character development.

I’ve read this Fanfic since the first chapter came out, since it’s first version a bit over a year ago. Overall I can say that I am very satisfied over the story, and am very pleased in the direction this has been going. I would give it a 5 star over all, but I must dock at least one point due to me needing to wait a year for 20 chapters. Though it’s good to see that it now has the consistency it deserves. May you continue to deliver, and best wishes to the King Of Heroes! Ps, I can’t wait until until you include Morgan in the story… you will right?

Think of a story as a cake. Everyone likes cake, but cake with icing on top makes it better. Icing is naturally the minor, ‘useless’ details that are sprinkled around that add some minor level of depth to a story, usually enhancing it. You could easily slip in a few comments about Uruks welfare, economy or some minor accident that ended up in Siduri’s daily report to Gilgamesh. Whatever pops up doesn’t need to be important, rather it needs to give some smal insight to how the never before seen kingdom of Uruk’s citizens behave. Like: “You highness, I have troubling news…” “What has happed? Speak.” “After a detailed analysis of the market, I’ve stumbled on the fact that Thor merchandise has eclipsed your own product line by a 12% margin…” “Impossible! How can my own people support that Cur more than me!” “Your highness! It is not as you think… but the fact that they believe that Thor is the picture perfect… hero…” “… Impossible… my own people… th-they think him a better hero than me! How many!” “… About 63% my lord.” “Noooo!” Very simple, now we know the people of Uruk like and support Thor, despite Gils hate for him and gods. Simple flavour text to get to know the citizens a bit better, as well as breathing some life into Gils kingdom.

I think the direction you’ve started the re-write to has been the right choice. As things have been a bit more interesting and nuanced. Alll I got to say is well done!

Some world building has never hurt nobody. I recommend trying to flesh out your new version of the MCU fo superior imursion… And as well as adding Morgan for a superior narrative

I think it would be more interesting to find out as the story progresses. Getting to know too much in the beginning would make it feel as if you are dragging your feet on certain characters if nothing has happened yet on the romance front. So I recommend keeping them a secret 🤫 Of course, as long as Morgan is best girl I will be pleased with whatever you do 👍
