He is a spider man, but as the name implies, he'd make a terrible 'spider-man' however in the context of the story as a whole and in later chapter when the story catches up to what I have planed for it, he is 'a spider-man' i.e a version of Peter Parker tied to the web of destiny through unnatural means, just not the conventional version of spider-mans like the other spiderman's out there.

she'll do something she thinks is right but it won't end the way she thought it would go.

and on the mistake part, it will come in later chapters, gwen will do something that will come at a cost to Peter. spoilers, maybe you'll get that character development you want then.

his not obsessed with gwe, he simply doesn't care any more about what she did to him in the past or even the fact that she killed him- him forgiving her was just a result of that fact, he cares about her to much to hate her, he just wants to move on from it all. At this point Gwen is the closest thing Peter has to family and Spider woman was to this Peter parker what Allmight from MHA is to Izuku. Keep in mind that when Peter was a lizard he tried to kill and eat gwen regardless of his lack of control, she just got to him first and she is only alive now because of that. He also almost killed her dad so in Peters mind they were both at fault for how things turned out between them- it was no ones fault. Right now he just dosn't give af about everyone in his school, his bullies or Gwens past actions, thier just not importent enough to him to time to dwell on, he has other more importent things to worry about and because he still cares about gwen he doesn't want her to be burdened by thier past either hense his actions in the past chapters. His not obsessed with Gwen but rather his still emotionally attached to her- more so now since May is in a comma and his family is yet to be found, they've been best friends for years and shes technically the hero he once looked up too so its kinda hard for him just not care about her- not to mention shes the only one from his past that knows about both his civilian and vigilante life, she is alsp the closest thing he has to a friend or family so... but if she does get in the way of his current goals he will hurt her becuase he values his real family about all else.
