The start felt kinda dragging but overall it's a great first chapter. Enjoyed it!

An interesting concept, to say the least. The story feels compelling and gripping. The first chapter does as good enough of job of grabbing the readers intrest. Some sentences do feel streched but that's just nit-picking from my side. Anyway, an enjoyable read.

Calling this a great book would be an understatement. I'm 22 chapters in and boy, is the word play heavenly. The plot slowly builds up, engulfing the reader's mind chapter by chapter as we approach the high point. In short it's a well crafted peice with intense story and excellent word play. I absolutely love it!.

Things just got a lot more interesting in just a few lines.

I knew I had to be strong for my family. If I managed to do well this year, the Sultan would clear my families debt. I had never been away from home. I looked around when I heard footsteps, quickly wiping the tears from my cheeks.

The devil hound and the thief is when you take a wonderful idea and give it an excellent execution. Saying that the devil hound and the thief is a great story would be an understatement, the writing style and the plot are unique but the coherence and consistency is the real charm here. Not once in the story was I ever bored. The story is fast-paced and MC is likeable and not generic, quite refreshing to be very honest. There is just one slight issue here; there are certain chapters which have pacing issues, though they might just be specific to me since I have read fast paced novels for most of my life. Other than that, it's a wonderful story.

The story starts with a beautiful example of in media res and what follows is truly captivating and marvelous. The initial chapters establishes the characters and plots like puzzle pieces, each fitting into one another. The traits and core aspects of the protagonists are well established. It's well paced and the premise just adds on it. All in all, a great story!

It was supposed to be a new beginning—fresh faces, towering mountains, and the promise of untamed horizons. But the world doesn’t always play fair. The snow-covered peaks held secrets, ancient whispers that pulled at the edges of reality. A frosted gaze, a frozen heart. A fleeting warmth that lingered, only to unravel. The air was heavy, the nights restless. I was unlucky. A quiet campus turned labyrinthine. Paths twisted into trails where footsteps vanished, and in the silence, shadows became more than just absence. Questions followed like echoes: What am I? What do I belong to? And why does the sky feel too close and too far all at once? A frostbite that never healed. A cliff's edge that wouldn’t let go. A hand reached out—divine or cruel? Each step forward pulled deeper into the unknown, where gods didn’t walk, but fragments of them did, fractured and wary, watching. The world isn’t broken; it’s just no longer whole. Beyond the mountains, among the clouds, lies a story unwritten, where reality bends and belief becomes the weight that anchors existence. But the question is simple: Can you bear the cold?

The following is an account given by a surviving battle soldier, Zinhestine Vazo. ‘He was there. The cruelest of all in Europe, the spawn of the devil, no, he is the devil himself, pleasuring himself from our pain; he watched us suffer and laughed with his fellow soldiers. He mocked us while we cried, begging for death. No one is safe from him, not even women or children, the ice-cold blue eyes show mercy to none. There is no way that he is a man, the true tyrant of Europe, not even our Lord can match with him, he’s Natria the Tyrant.’ Zinhestine was later found dead in his cell. A note was recovered from his body. ‘I know you guys are deporting me to Chemnitz, I would rather die than go through that hell again. My death would be the final warning. Please stop the war, otherwise, there would be no Germany on the map by tomorrow.’
