huh
As if I ever could forget. I shook my head with Requiem's words, leaning over to gently shake Mistress Lin awake. She moaned softly with my touch, and I chuckled to myself.

oh so they ship it
Requiem does not have much say at the moment. I sighed again, walking back to the trunk as I retrieved Mistress Lin's jacket. It was soaked with the blood of the vampire, and I quickly shook the cloth, watching as my magic washed the fabric clean. It was always interesting to me that Master Lucien had chosen an angel to be his partner, especially considering his heritage. He could have anyone he wanted, and yet he had chosen a mate both Dracula and Requiem were primed to hate. Amusing.

they are kinda sassy
"She was injured outside of the city. According to my Master, she is blood-starved." I carefully carried my charge to the bed they had brought out and laid her on the white sheets. The attending nurses immediately began to roll the vampire inside the hospital, but I noticed the fairy remained outside with me, clearly ready to ask more questions. How annoying.

Luc is so sweet
"Luc." I interrupted him, carefully leaning over the injured vampire between us to stroke his face. He closed his eyes as he sighed, leaning into my hand as I could see the conflict on his expression. He knew I was right, but he loathed to leave me behind where I could be discovered. "I'll be fine. You know I will be."

Lin is sweet
"I'm sorry, but we need to stop the bleeding." I whispered softly, keeping my eyes on her as she did her best to nod. Good, my blood was still allowing her to stay lucid, but my angel blood could only do so much. If she kept bleeding like this, she would be blood-crazed next time she woke up and I refused to force her back into such a state. "I promise I won't let you lose your mind again."

that's an interesting theory
Bullets were not enough to kill a vampire, regardless of composition, but vampires would still bleed until the wound either healed on its own or was healed by someone else. They depended on that blood to stay lucid and intelligent and for most, bring reduced to a simple blood-starved creature was worst than death. Considering what the vampire at the church had suffered for months, I couldn't help but be annoyed with her actions. Luc and I would've been fine if we had been discovered: she should have cared about herself more

of course
"HEY!" A voice called out from outside the building, and I could see the orange glow of a lantern as they grew closer to the old church. "I know you're in there! I saw ya from the hill! Come out before I get the whole town on ya."

indeed
"I'm okay." I insisted, deciding I would have to tell Luc what I knew on the drive home. This was only getting more and more complicated. "Anything else?"

ah so all vampires have red eyes
"Thank you Princess for the kindness you have given me." The vampire offered in a feminine voice and I heard as they stood, although I couldn't make out anything in the darkness other than their eyes. It was surprising to me that I had not been able to see them before, as now their eyes glowed a bright red in the darkness. "Allow me to prove my gratitude."
