Ok, that makes a lot more sense. Although, theoretically, if he made other lords his subordinates in the same way he did with Lilica and her team would it be possible? He could add secrecy into the contract and he would be able to extract the corpses since the lords (and by extension their subjects) would be his subjects. He’d also make a lot of gains in terms of memories(information and techniques) and summoning scrolls even if the soultrait fragments do not amount to much. I also think he mentioned not liking having to keep extraction a secret so this could maybe help alleviate that somewhat while still keeping him protected. Also, I’m loving the novel, keep up the good work!
I’m curious as to why Michael hasn’t started a Soultrait fragment business. I get that he’s worried about his safety but couldn’t he just deal with people whose war runes have a similar refinement to his and then make a war rune contract with them? People would probably kill for the chance to improve their war rune tier, so he could charge them all of the extra stuff from the corpse and half of the soultrait fragments in exchange for giving them the other half of the fragments and they would probably be ok with it cause this would be the only way to improve the tier of their soultrait. This could help him massively boost his and his territory’s strength with little to no risk to him or his people.
See this! I just gifted the story: Ice cola
Bro collected so many soultraits that he forgot how rare they are
Michael listened intently. He tilted his head a little and wondered if Lilica was twisting the truth in his favor to make him feel better.
Supreme Lord: I can extract everything!
