Thanks very much for this extremely detailed feedback. I'll keep that in mind for my next fic. I really enjoy MCs grinding too (and The Outsider's Resolve is also one of my favorite among Narutos FFs because of the pace) and I'll do my best to make it that way.

Okay, I finally have time to answer this : so Shoto is not supposed to represent Enji here. Shoto is still supposed to be himself, a deeply flawed individual, who, through this child with an uncanny ressemblance to Enji, is offered a second chance. He destroyed pretty much every relationship he ever had with anyone. He learned from this and the question is : can he change ? We'll never know. I'll let the readers imagine it as they want. The only thing we can be sure of is that Shoto has the will to become better - as seen by him offering this child to take him in. He'll make mistakes, yes, but he'll do his damn best, and for somebody as flawed as him, that's an important commitment. He's far from being Enji, but like Enji before him who tried to be even half of what his father was, Shoto will do his damn best to be if only half of what his father was.
