It's a refreshing sight to read about a female lead who strongly pushes away her ex-lover. I've read tons of female leads about how their heart "thump" when they kiss their former lover, I was like "girl... did you forget the misery he put you through? All the lies, the cheating, etc.".Needless to say, Go Isla! Beat that duke more!
Does the duke even realize how much of a hypocrite he is?Hope someone knocks him in the head just to shed some light on his empty brain.
I know MC is kind but goodness she's too kind. She can pardon Theresa's actions and say that she's fine but what about the others? For the people that brat had hurt because of her temper tantrums it's inexcusable. She needs to be punish. MC saw what she did to her personal knight and I believe since she had knowledge of the story she knows her "sister's" character and the abuse she inflicts on the maids. Plus, rumors about Theresa's bad behavior in the palace should be talk about in the social circles right now. Maybe a damage reputation might do that brat some good. Honestly, Theresa's punishments so far is being grounded in her room.
The mother and son pair are facing these kinds of scrutiny all because of the poor excuse of a husband and father. Now, someone like the countess had the audacity to call them out on it and abuse a child. Hope they face a great retribution in the future. Especially, the duke. It must dawn on him soon the magnitude of his sins and the tattered reputation he had befallen on Isla and Damien. I also wish that public opinion would choose to reprimand the duke instead of the innocent pair.
This is a wholesome chapter. I'm glad they can have their peaceful moments.
Honestly, I really don't want the MC to go back to Duke Hayes. Like MC said, the duke's first love was Annalise during their marriage. I would never go back to someone who had done so many intimate things with another person when you guys are married to one another. Especially, when Dante accuse MC of cheating without any evidence while he was out there in the open doing the exact same thing he accused of MC. Hypocritical trash. Hopefully, he gets a taste of his own medicine if he sees MC with a much better man that can make him insecure about everything. Like his looks, status, prestige, wealth and personality.
This man is insane. Instead of letting them go, he's going to force them back into his life. Not only is he shameless but delusional. Would someone beat him up to a pulp already. I don't doubt the daddy grand duke's capabilities but he is old. He's no longer in his prime and it looks like Dante is willing to shed blood just to get his "family" (In the first place you never should have abandoned them).
Beat him up daddy Duke! I don't mind him being in the boy's life if that child wishes to see his father, (though I think he will change his mind once he finds out of his father's sins) since he is the boy's biological father. However , the sheer audacity of Dante wanting to get back with MC makes me want to go inside the novel and curse him! C'mon dude, you cheated, humiliated her and put her life and your son at risk and blame other people when they escaped a cold-blooded jerk like you. If they didn't escape they would most likely be dead. There has got to be another male lead in this story.
