You know author with enough development and interaction with character, anything can be 'realistic' in the realm of fiction. Lilia so called 'canon' love can be ended, changed into admiration or just be content. Paul can be good guy or can cheat with someone in village and have an unwanted child which changes the family's dynamics for the worse but author you 'choose' the easy way out and wish fulfillment of happy family, you can even go to other difficult route, but you did not …sad (at least in my humble opinion) And even if my above statement may be outright wrong or impossible but in end …the fan fiction is not canon, the whole concept of guy with meta knowledge is not real and not 'canon' …then so what …if canon Lilia can have little less love and have more disgust, and if comprehension of every person of literature is different then what if other understanding of the Lilia 'canon' love is different… But at the end of the day, it is your story your rules …some people be happy…some people like me disappointed, and write whole rant. It is you choose what's you want to be canon or not.

don't know man ... in the end all people have different desire even when the development entails (but your build up sets a wrong idea in readers mind ) something else , some wants her in harem , some just neutral, some just Happy by your writing,at end it on you whom you want to make happy
