What with the goddess saying the Merfolk were a relic of the past I was hoping he might become something a bit different..sea serpents are a thing and with that petrifying light I was starting to hope for a medusa esk transformation but I'm still loving the novel even if my hopes for him to be a devourer of the deep juxtaposed to jj's land dwelling devourer nature are dashed.

Though especially odd us her demeanor as I can't imagine she would be so soft hearted after experiencing absolute desperation alongside likely reoccurring insanity trigger by varying emotion spirals. Liths the only one between the two that seems to have his trauma and it's effects accurately painted.
