I've been disappointed in this story as of late, it used to be one of my favorite fanfiction. The degradation of the main character has been jolting. He was a very pragmatic character that tries to embody the spirit of a hero without officialism. Even when he is acting the villain you see why he does so. The One Piece arc is a mess, Hector up until the end was treating that world and those in it as a joke. The relationship with Hiyori and Yamato was extremely forced and the decision to have children with them without knowing that he could return was disappointing. This chapter we have Hector mind controlling Harley Quinn for no reason. He doesn't have to summon anyone, yet he summoned her not because he needed her, but because he could. He could have left her in the gacha, but he not only brought her out he also promised to bring Ivy too. I've always hated Ivy's character. Who'd want to have that toxic addon to an already toxic relationship? I'm not thrilled with the direction this has been heading.

These numbers are unrealistic. Pokemon tides killing several thousands of people in each city; happening every few years all over the globe would wipe out mankind. Mankind wouldn't even be able to establish a foothold before facing extinction.

So, this chapter was the main character purposefully planning to abandon his child. Initially he was vehemently against such an action. However, because he talked to his women and they said he should act rashly, then talked to a man who abandoned his family, and his family was (presumably) ok with it; this makes everything ok.
