From a purely technical point of view, saying shotgun rifle is an oxymoron. Shotguns typically fire multiple projectiles per shell (with the exception of slugs, which are a single full bore projectile). The spread of multiple projectiles allows for a much wider area of effect, making accuracy at close range, such as self-defense scenarios, a near non-factor. Rifles, on the other hand, would be better for longer range self-defense scenarios due to the inherent accuracy capabilities they can have at range. But I'm nitpicking. Love the stories as always.
