yes and no opening borders does increase population especially in places where people want to go but on the same thing that has mentioned in the paragraph if they're not having children even with the open borders then you're still left with a bunch of people not having children and then we need to go into the cultural side of it is that countries for the most part went to preserve their cultural identity opening borders allows people from various places to come in Mass which could vastly impact the cultural climate of said country which would potentially even harm the country as a whole
