Lol, it's funny that it is how magic actually works in Harry Potter. To do magic the only thing you really need is to believe it will happen and a wand to focus better.

It would also be a pretty natural follow up to bring as many golems as he can without it becoming too cumbersome and try to make them use magic.

The laughing disorder makes me think of gelastic epilepsy, a rare form of epilepsy that it's usually caused by benign and non cancerous tumors in the hypothalamus, I wonder if he will eventually have to go to the hospital.
