it's not a logic problem it's a emotional problem although there was a low to non existent percent that it would happen it was still Batman that trained Nightwing and brought him into heroic lifestyle which is why he feels partly responsible

I'll be honest I am trying to avoid non western media for the moment as it is either usually over done or overpowered. That said this isn't a permanent ban just a temporary restriction until I can effectively work them in without unbalancing the story.

Not officially, people in abusive relationship tend to spout ideas of leaving more than once before actually pursuing them if at all. Sometimes the idea of leaving seems more terrifyingly than staying even when they know the situation is terrible. Some people won't even consider it at all regardless of the situation even knowing the eventual outcome depending on the abuse.
