Bit of an extension so I can really get my point across (I hate writing reviews, and I can't get my point across concisely, especially when I understand why the negative reviews say what they do for this book) It is rough in the beginning. And I mean for a bit, in more ways than one if I'm remembering well enough. but the HUNDREDS of chapters afterwards have been very fun to read. Granted that it is only by chapter 968 that they've genuinely convinced me they have a good plan for this novel: Doing my part by telling you the groundwork being made the whole time isn't worthlessly mysterious shenanigans. it is being tied together SURPRISINGLY well, and the characters have all been fleshed out satisfyingly enough for me to recommend it for how good I think the story actually is turning out to be. side note that I didn't really touch on: the romance aspect can be really awkward but has gotten more meaningfully written and purposeful. Anyways. Reviews can only get so long before I'M the long winded one and bore you to death. Ask if you have any questions, I'll try to check back.
Finally left a review because you've convinced me this is an amazing story, regardless of how people might judge the quality of writing or how long it took to get here. I really have personally enjoyed it. Feels a little ironic to tell people looking into the novel that azief is "imperfect" lol.
This book is a little unconventional. and that makes it hard for me to review. Good story? ABSOLUTELY. And as I understand, he has someone working on fixing the broken English of the earlier chapters, which helps a lot. (Was all legible-enough to me when I started) The world building/progression can be lazy at times, with a variety of alternate future dialog flashes for the reader that can be confusing. BUT I feel it's justified by why I DEFINITELY recommend the book; author is pulling it off better than I ever hoped in the long term. The story is coherent, has surprised me, and is original to Azief to my knowledge. The over-arching plot remains above the usage of all the classic pantheons of gods and other obvious references. It all strictly remains the backdrop or a good stepping stone to Azief's story. It's not perfect, especially in the beginning i remember it was hard to decide to keep reading. But it gets better. Azief is written a little awkwardly while trying to make him a strong MC that still has imperfections who actually matures, but it portrays it well enough and sometimes translates into him portraying a real person's infuriating awkwardness very accurately in the story. I love him and all the side characters at this point (chap 968) and I found myself really enjoying the story daily a long time before now. And it's been fun to read so far. cons: Can be long winded sometimes=expensive. I personally like the pacing and find the extra dialog worth it for the most part. side-arcs can get a little boring and sometimes fall into the lazy world building category. However, he has made a surprising amount of these periods relevant in a meaningful way. And otherwise everything is effective at progressing all characters closer to the real meat of the story which has been largely satisfying and unpredictable.
