What a profound tragedy what Qidian has done to this webnovel. Undoubtedly one of the most well written and interesting novels on the site, irrevocably ruined by their greed to sell off MTL trash for any penny they can get their hands on. The "translation" past chapter 40 is unreadable, and the fantastic translation work of the first good soul who worked on the novel 2 years ago only makes the difference more striking. If I were the author, I would be disgusted with what this company has done with the licensing of this novel.

Some of the worst of the worst writing, even on this app. Unbelievably ridiculous "world building," no story, no actual characters, there's literally no point in reading this. I don't even believe a real human wrote it.

perhaps one of the best cultivation novels I've read, up there with Spirit Vessel. Characters are unique, have depth and personality. More importantly, character besides Zhang Ruochen can actually be strong and talented, being relevant and powerful characters 2900 chapters in (mtl), thus your emotional investment and time reading about other characters is not wasted for nothing like in so many other books. The plot is complex and mysterious, it is NOT just a one trick revenge story on a girl that betrayed him. The beginning of the book doesn't really do it justice, but I'm inclined to believe that it was intended by the author to be clichè like, so he could subvert reader expectations later. His choices surrounding these "clichè" plot points and characters really made it even more engaging and interesting than if he were to try avoiding cliches at all costs. To top it all off, the cultivation system is unique, interesting, and well thought out. I haven't enjoyed reading a novel this much, eagerly checking mtl sites for updates everyday, EVER, and I've read quite a lot of novels mtl'd.
