The next time I awoke, it was to find Jordan and Jack standing at the doorway. Jordan was whispering to him emphatically, almost pleading with him. But Jack, it seemed, wasn't listening. He was slouched down, looking defeated, and his arms were crossed over his chest. It was obvious that he was not listening to whatever it was that Jordan was saying. Jack kept shaking his head, and I watched as Jordan's shoulders sagged as well like he was giving up.
"Jordan?" I called softly, trying to sit up.
Instantly Jordan was at my side, helping me so I would not pull my arm again.
"What's going on?" I asked as soon as I was sitting up.
"Jack is being a freaking idiot," he grumbled as he sat down.
"What do you mean?"
I looked to Jack to find some answers, but he wasn't there. I looked around the room for any sign of him, yet everything he had left in the room was gone. Jack's coat, his wallet, his overnight bag, all gone.
