"What is this?" She muttered and lowered her gaze, there, hiding behind a car and against a tree at the cafe next to her estate, there was yet another man in long drabs and a neck gaiter hiding his face.
The man in long overcoats and a neck gaiter held binoculars that one would see in an opera house as he leaned against a tree.
His eyes stuck on the previous one.
"Heh?"
Kristine muttered yet
A clinking sound spread behind her.
She then turned to her back and found yet another group of people in the same long drabs, with masks of Gold and a guy whose body structure screamed a Jim.
"What are you doing, Jim! We have to keep an eye on that damned Isaac!"
Isaac?
Did they just take his name?
Kristine walked over to the alley where the golden mask and Jim hid, her mask stuck to her tight.
Such suspicious people talking about her Isaac in broad daylight? Death sentence, no hesitation. They were going to go and they were going to go painfully.
Kristine strode over to the alley right behind her and leaned her hand on the brick walls. The two people wiping off the pie from their clothes had her shadow cast over them and they slowly turned their heads up.
"Huh? Who are you now?"
"How dare you block our Sire's way!?"
Sire…
Kristine crouched down and looked at the two, she removed her glasses and met her red eyes straight into theirs.
"A-a…." The golden mask reeled back.
"If you want a slice of my wife's signature pie, you should learn to ask politely—"
A slap resounded as Kristine banged the back of Jim's head.
"Who?"
"Y-yes? I am Jim!"
He was a Jim.
She turned her head to the golden mask.
"J-johnny…" he caved under the sheer pressure that her eyes exuded. First that damned Isaac and now this person, just how bad was the sire's luck that he had to meet such people back to back.
No, it wasn't his luck.
"Jim, are you perhaps, unlucky?"
"Slander, sire! Slander—Ack!"
Kristine slapped him again.
"Answer my questions, one after another."
No, wait. He could probably make good use of this.
Whether the others knew or not, Golden Mask the Sire was now working under someone. He felt vigor flow back into his veins as the sire stretched his chest outward.
"You! You don't know who's backing us! We're working for a very powerful man so it would be better to back away."
Slap!
Three in a row!
"Why was I slapped?!" Jim complained, but no one said anything.
It was well deserved, and well served as well since it shut up the golden mask right away.
"Isaac von Episteme Athenus, what did you mean you're looking at him?"
"Hah! Scary name, isn't it? If you don't want someone of his caliber to face you then turn away right now, third rate—"
Kristine pulled her mask down again and pulled away her hat.
Jim fell to his knees when he felt the pressure that Kristine emitted while Golden Mask was left with his jaws dropped.
"K-k-Kristine… et Kaiser?"
Slap.
This time, the golden mask was smashed against the walls.
"So? What was that about powerful people backing you?"
Golden Mask, with tears in his eyes, fell to the ground and bowed.
What did he do! What did he do to deserve this?
Why, of all people why did it have to be Kristine et Kaiser?
What was he supposed to do here?
"Now, tell me, why are you looking for Lord Isaac?"
Golden Mask broke into tears.
What was he supposed to say!? Isaac ordered them to attack her? Then what! Die painfully by Isaac's hands? Unlike others, he was well aware how cruel that man was.
Then what? Be taught a lesson by Kristine right here?
And who didn't know of HER cruelty?
"Why, Moirai! When did I wrong you? Why do I have to face this?"
The golden mask stopped. Realization hit him.
"It's not me, it's Jim, isn't it?"
"Slander!!"
"Bastards, speak when I ask you to. What's your goal?"
"We attack! We attack people! Spare me, madam, spare me. Mercy! No, take me to jail! Arrest me and save me from this hell, I beg of thee!"
Attack people?
Details were skipped and so were thoughts.
But that didn't matter much.
Kristine's old friends, the stick figures, introduced themselves again and a master, foolproof plan appeared in her head.
She could save Isaac after all, and kill the bitch that has been sniffing his trail.
"Haha! HAhaaha!"
Kristine broke into laughter.
"Now, you will do as I say."
Today's battle, was lost by Jim and Johnny.
