A week passed by and the utter silence left by those that tried to go to Rova had risen suspicions, it didn't take long until it was discovered what had become of the city, or at least, to see that something was terribly wrong.
After having been in place for so long, the domain of the Faceless Lord had grown much more powerful as he continuously worked to reinforce it and make it stronger.
It wasn't a simple affair to distrupt it anymore, it was no longer a question of power, at least, not a question that could be asked by many people anymore, the intruders would now need to abide to the rules of the domain for a chance to survive.
The city and its surroundings had been utterly overtaken by animals and monsters, the unnatural forest was now brimming with danger at every side, be it the smallest of rabbits or the most dangerous of predators, everything was completely and only hostile to intruders.
Being devoured alive by swarms of insects or hundreds of rabbits, anything was possible in the domain.
Every inch had been dug and had been filled with spawners, continuously spawning creatures that would defend this place with their lives.
It was similar to a dungeon in some aspects, except that it had no principle of fairness at all, in this place, you could be completely incapacitated by the master of the domain right after entering and if you didn't take your own life after being subjected to its powers, you would be taken apart by the wildlife.
None of the people that had gotten lost there or had entered knowingly had even reached the city, where some unusual architecture was taking place.
After all, even with the best of intentions, a bunch of goblins and wretches were still just lesser monsters and they definitely lacked refinement.
In the center of the city, laid their masterpiece, still being in construction and having already been demolished and started over multiple times, a tower had been built in a suspicious manner.
Lacking much understanding of such buildings, being more used crude and small habitations, the sewer goblins still knew how to stack such shabby things atop one another, not that it worked well with bricks but it was better than nothing.
Sitting in the currently highest portion of the tower, Axiolypito dreamed of having more skilled builders at his disposal, watching them at work was definitely causing direct damage to his intelligence.
He had stopped counting the amount of times they had broken something due to sheer stupidity or the times some had even died, it was all too damaging to think about, so instead, he sat in his throne and tested things all day.
Slumped in his throne, he stuck his tongue out, the abnormally long appendage moving as he whished since it was prehensile, he could tie it around his neck if he wanted but instead, h manifested a spawner from it.
Usually, he would always make them pop out from the palm of his hand but more choices were preferable as he had noticed that when his arm had been broken, he struggled to create one from it.
So he had been working to make them appear from everywhere on his body, it worked best when trying from 'ends', limbs and body parts that had an 'end'.
From his feet, it worked just as well after some training, moving both his feet up to his face, without moving anything else, he made them bent the other way than they were supposed to, his feet started taking a strange shape as they quickly looked more like hands than feet.
The fact that they could count as another pair of hand when necessary might be the reason it had been so simple in the first place.
His tongue had been another story and he still struggled to do anything other than the smallest spawners possible, as for anywhere else, it wasn't working at all yet.
He threw the spawner he had just made into the pile of the day, one of his servants would come pick them up and disperse them later, he already had a whole lot of spawners active but it didn't seem that he was going to reach any limit soon.
Most of the city and surroundings were already brimming with his spawners, to the point that most had to be hung from trees or hidden in bushes instead of being buried.
Though, many of the spawners made recently were all being funneled to the same location for a little project of his.
Axio, not having much else to do, tested some other thing while he was at it, sprouting his various sets of claws one after the other, only that instead of doing so normally, he made them sprout facing to opposite direction, it was awfully easy to do despite the utter lack of reason for it.
Then, he began turning his hand in the direction until he couldn't anymore, doing so a whopping five times but he forced on it and discovered that two more times was possible thanks to his very elastic skin.
After the great massacre of the city, his bodily capacities had reached new heights, every single thing that could somewhat turn could do so multiple times over, be it his waist or neck, there was truly no risk involved at all.
he could even dislocate all of his bones and have them get back in position at will, coupled with his ultra elastic skin and ability to now change it to a more slippery form, he could get battered head on and just bounce back without any injury.
He could even soften his bones a bit, although it was anything too grand yet, alternatively, he could also make his bones similar to that of birds, hollowing them for less weight and even more speed.
The biggest boon however was an ability that wasn't taken and adapted from something else however, willing for it to happen, the wretch shrunk in size until he was only half his original height.
It was only size manipulation though, he could shrink in size but not grow beyond his original height, it didn't affect his speed and weight either.
He didn't need it to do more than that, being able to shrink was plenty enough.
'Now, when do they get there?' he wondered as he scratched his temple, having time to test things was good but he couldn't do many big projects here until the troops were there, he had no clue what they would look like or how many there would be, Faceless wasn't more well informed either.
He had talked of multiple monster species that could be part of the roster and insisted on not doing anything other than strengthening the domain and sometime dealing with intruders that could disrupt him.
"What a hassle..."
