บท 20: The Werewolf Council

Early in the evening, the sun began to fade from the clear horizon, casting a warm, golden hue across the valley of Bloodmoon territory. And the famous Phoenix Lake sparkled like dazzling stars.

Seraphyne's day had been filled with various pack duties and responsibilities, but she welcomed the interruption when her phone buzzed with an incoming call from Lucas, the ever-efficient Beta.

"Luna, I hope I am not disturbing you," Lucas's voice echoed through the receiver.

Seraphyne leaned against the window frame, gazing out at the rolling hills as she spoke, her tone composed. "What's the matter, Lucas?"

Lucas cleared his throat before responding, "The Alpha might not be able to attend the council's meeting tomorrow. He hopes you can participate on his behalf."

The mention of the Werewolf Council's meeting for all pack leaders around the country caught Seraphyne's attention. "You mean the Werewolf Council is having a meeting for all pack leaders tomorrow?"

"Yes, Luna," Lucas confirmed.

A thoughtful pause hung in the air before Seraphyne posed her next question, "Can I take Kieiran with me?"

"If you wish to do so, Luna."

"Good! Send me the exact location and time. Is there anything else?" Seraphyne inquired with her usual efficiency.

"No more," Lucas replied, his tone respectful. "The Alpha just hopes the Luna takes care of the pack well."

With a polite acknowledgment, Seraphyne ended the call and turned to share the news with Kieiran. They were seated in her newly built office, a room adorned with ornate furnishings, the wooden bookshelves filled with volumes on werewolf lore and history.

Seraphyne spoke with a gentle smile, "Kieiran, I have been asked to represent your father at the Werewolf Council meeting tomorrow. Would you like to accompany me?"

Kieiran, who had been listening attentively, nodded in agreement. "Sure, Luna."

Seraphyne appreciated his willingness to join her. She had grown fond of Kieiran's company, and she believed that involving him in pack affairs would not only be beneficial for his growth but also strengthen their bond.

"Great," she said, rising from her seat. "Let's prepare for tomorrow then."

Seraphyne entrusted the task of outfit selection to Aunt Mina, the seasoned housekeeper who always knew how to balance style and tradition. Mina chose for Seraphyne a stunning gown, a rich shade of blue that accentuated her eyes and complemented her fair complexion. The gown featured intricate floral embroidery and delicate gemstone embellishments, making her appear both regal and elegant.

Kieiran, on the other hand, looked dashing in a well-tailored tuxedo that showcased his youthful charm.

The morning of the council meeting arrived, and Seraphyne stood in front of her full-length mirror, admiring the attire chosen by Aunt Mina. She felt a mixture of eagerness and filled with expectations, a sense of duty as the Luna settled in.

"Are you ready, Kieiran?" she called from her room.

"Hmm," came his confident response, indicating his readiness.

"Let's go, then," Seraphyne said, her voice reflecting her mature charm.

As they made their way to the event, their guards discreetly merged into the bustling crowd, ensuring their safety while maintaining a low profile. Kieiran, ever the gentleman, escorted Seraphyne through the grand entrance of the palace, where the aura of majesty enveloped them.

Seraphyne couldn't help but marvel at the magnificence of the palace, contrasting sharply with the rugged beauty of the Bloodmoon territory. The council meeting, she realized, was an event of great significance, and she was honored to be there to represent her pack and her Alpha.

The grandeur of the palace took Seraphyne's breath away as they entered the hall where the council meeting was to take place. The walls were adorned with intricate treasures, and crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, casting a soft glow across the room. She couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed.

Kieiran, walking by her side, couldn't help but notice her awe. He leaned in and whispered, "Impressive, isn't it?"

Seraphyne nodded, her eyes wide with wonder. "It's unlike anything I've ever seen before. This council meeting must be a very important event."

Kieiran chuckled softly. "It is. It's where pack leaders from all over the country gather to discuss matters of utmost importance. My father usually attends, but today, it's you representing our pack."

They found their seats, and Seraphyne couldn't help but feel a little self-conscious as the eyes of other pack leaders and their representatives fell on her. She was acutely aware of her status as the Luna, a newcomer to this world, and she hoped to make a good impression.

As the meeting commenced, various topics were discussed, from pack alliances to territorial disputes and trade agreements. Seraphyne listened intently, trying to absorb as much information as she could.

She occasionally glanced at Kieiran, who seemed to be well-versed in these matters, taking notes and occasionally engaging in hushed conversations with other pack representatives.

During a break, Kieiran turned to Seraphyne. "Is everything going okay so far, Luna?"

Seraphyne smiled gratefully. "Yes, Kieiran, thanks to your guidance. I'm learning a lot today."

Kieiran's eyes softened, and he nodded. "I'm here to support you, Luna. Just let me know if you need anything."

As the meeting continued, Seraphyne couldn't help but reflect on how far she had come since her arrival in this world. She was now participating in a council meeting among powerful werewolf leaders, a far cry from her life on Earth. She was determined to make the most of this opportunity and continue to grow in her role as the Luna of the Bloodmoon pack.

The grand hall, adorned with intricate carvings and paintings depicting the history of werewolves, fell into a hushed silence as the elder's words echoed through the chamber. Seraphyne and Kieiran found themselves amidst a sea of distinguished individuals, leaders of various werewolf packs, each representing their own unique heritage and territory.

Seraphyne listened intently, her expression grave and her eyes scanning the crowd. The issue of rogue werewolves seizing territories and threatening the food supply was indeed a pressing concern. It affected not only her pack but also the livelihoods of countless others.

Beside her, Kieiran stood tall, a silent pillar of support, his gaze unwavering as he thought of the seriousness of the situation. He may have been young, but he understood the importance of the council meeting and the weight of the discussions taking place.

The elder continued, "We need individuals who are dedicated, capable, and committed to the cause. Nominations for officers are now open. Each pack leader may nominate a representative who they believe can contribute effectively to our mission."

As the nominations began, Seraphyne observed the deliberations. The tension in the room was evident as pack leaders put forth their choices, each believing their nominee to be the best suited for the task.

After a series of nominations, the elder announced, "We will now proceed with the elections. Each pack leader will cast their vote for the officers they believe will serve the council and our packs with honor and dedication."
