บท 63: Caroline

Caroline desperately worried about Ender, Aniyoh, and Silas. When Ender had defeated the Malkai, soldiers of Ibudal's elite fighting force, it was with the ease of a fighter running through his paces. As if he were practicing, all graceful movements resulting in complete carnage. Caroline remembered that the vampire had not looked winded or ruffled in the slightest.

The fact that he was captured terrified her. She did not know what chance Aniyoh and Silas had of recovering him safely, confrontation and kidnapping were wholely new concepts to her. An aching dread settled in the pit of her stomach for the days that followed Aniyoh's departure.
