The others remaining might just ban together to get rid of the ones showing it's head above the crowd.

Though they were angry about Shen Tianyu and them getting a headstart, it wasn't hostile to the point of wanting to get rid of them yet.

When that was solved, the entire crowd started to move forward again. There were a few incidents of others "accidentally" falling off the bridge here and there but it didn't cause much of a stir since they were not important people and everyone was rushing to get to the other side. 

The other side of the chasm was a clear lake that expanded as far as the eye could see. There was not other structure that could be stood on except the bridge that they were on. The skies were a bright blue, completely different from the dark and stuffy feeling right after entering the gate. However, at this rate, they were unable to progress.
