Coming down the stairs and out of the Emergency Department Building, he only realized then that the sun had long since risen. Its glaring brightness made him shield his eyes with his hand.

The hospital canteen was quite a distance from the Emergency Department Building. He walked nearly ten minutes to get there. By the time he returned with breakfast to the observation room, he was surprised to find the door of the observation room slightly ajar.
