บท 136: Why Lie to Her?

In the morning, the servants of the Ji Manor went to Jinglan Pavilion to deliver food to the Second Mistress. They found Old Housekeeper Yu and informed him that she was seriously ill and was bedridden. She needed to see the doctor urgently.

"What illness does she have?" Old Housekeeper Yu asked.

"I don't know. I merely saw the Second Mistress lying in bed. She did not look well, and Miss Yuan'er was crying very badly!"

Old Housekeeper Yu frowned. He guessed that the Second Mistress was either depressed or perhaps very sick. He decided to find a doctor, and he brought him to Jinglan Pavilion to see the Second Mistress.

To avoid suspicion, Old Housekeeper Yu only waited in the outer room. He heard that the Second Mistress was so sick that she was out of her mind. She was constantly wheezing and yelling Ji Ze's name. Her voice was hoarse, implying she was truly debilitated.
