People die, that is nothing new nor something surprising, it's just a fact, something that happens to everyone when they get old or sick or decide that living just isn't worth it anymore. Life is something that happens very fast and it doesn't last long, but for some people life is way shorter than it should normally be. My name is Sora and I've been killed by the person that gave life to me. I lived in a decent family, we weren't rich nor poor, we could afford to live a normal life. I wasn't what people would call a sociable or likable kid and preferred to be by myself since it was quieter that way since I liked it more that way. For most of my life I didn't talk either since my own voice seemed to loud to me. This really pissed of my mother a lot, my father didn't seem to mind it but mom thought it did.
Today, on my seventeenth birthday, my father's company went bankrupt and he killed himself because of it, my mother blamed me, saying that I drove him to that point and I couldn't argue with her. Even if he didn't have a problem with me not talking and being a loner, in his eyes I could still see disappointment and yet I never expected for her to stab me because of it. After I turned my back, I felt something sharp pressed against my left side. As I fell on the floor in pain, I looked up, only to see my mom holding a bloody knife. She looked at me and laughed as I screamed in pain."At least you're talking now" and "why did you have to be like this", these are the last things I my mother told me before proceeding to stab me in the heart. I couldn't move, I don't know if it was because of the pain or the shock, but all I could do was to lie there and watch. Now, I don't know what's happening, or rather nothing is happening and that's to be expected, but why am I floating trough a void and why am I hearing a voice telling me to be patient? It all made sense as a figure made it's way over me, it was a pretty lady. She had very pale skin with golden hair, needless to say, she was extremely beautiful. The only thing I could think of was that she was leading me to the after life. I was never a religious person but an angel with some huge knockers is in front of me so how can I complain? Suddenly the two of us came to a stop. She smiled at me and told me that I would be reincarnated into another world. Why am I so stupid, dreaming of the afterlife and such, this is just a hallucination on my deathbed, or so I thought, big mistake by the way. "You can take any one thing with you" she said. I didn't have to think hard about it( big mistake).
If you were to die and be given a second chance to life what would you like to bring there with you? Your memories? Your most precious possession? A cheat-like power? For me, the answer is clear, the slime staff from that one fantasy game I played as a kid. She looked at me with a shocked face and than laughed."I see, I will grant you your wish and do not worry, I made sure that you'll live a nice life on the other side. I suppose we will meet there sometime. Good luck!"
My vision was filled with a bright light and had no other choice but to close my eyes, when I opened them, I realized that this was no hallucination, two people stood before me, a man and a woman, both dressed nicely. The man picked me up like I weighed nothing, as if only for me to understand that I am now in the body of a new born.
"Look Laura, our son seems to have taken after me!"
I was now reincarnated into another world and of all the things I could ask for I went for the slime staff, a weapon that summons slime, the weakest monster in all of fantasy! Just how am I gonna end up?
