Seated across the long table in the spacious dining hall of the Sidorov family mansion, were the two older sons, their younger sister, and their grandfather, sitting at the head.

The oldest son, who had just arrived, wore a scowl on his face. The reason, obvious, his hateful glare pointed at the vacant seat next to their grandfather was indicating enough.

"Batyá, how could you hide the fact that father was kidnapped from me?!" Stepan, the eldest son demanded.

He had gotten the news late last night and flew into New York, cutting his business trip short to handle the matter.

His younger brother, Trifon shot Natalia a nasty glare, "We should've expected nothing less from you. Grandfather, I was right to say that she isn't fit to be in bratva."

Natalia parted her lips as if to speak, but the conversation was cut short by the arrival of the special guest.
