'Right or left'
Derek hesitated for a moment as these thoughts raced through his mind. If he went to the right, he would have to keep fighting the wolves because of the mountain that is difficult to climb.
If he turned left, he would enter the Cullens' territory after 200-300 meters.
Wolves might hesitate to enter vampire territory. If they followed him, they would technically be breaking the agreement. And that way, vampires and wolves could clash, so Derek could escape during the conflict.
With the last few meters of the fork in the road, Derek finally made his choice and kept running, turning right.
Even if he entered the Cullens' territory, the young man knew the wolves would follow him. And he couldn't believe Cullen vampires would protect him.
Cullens and him had of course, reached an agreement. However, this agreement was made four days ago. And only thanks to Alice Cullen were they able to reach a verbal agreement.
On the other hand, the Quilette wolves and the Cullen vampires had made agreements years ago and divided this region in two. So it was normal to think that vampires would help other wolves rather than him.
In fact, precisely because of this situation, the young man was looking for allies he could rely on.
He could easily defeat all the wolves chasing him in a one-on-one position, but if their numbers were above a certain number, his only option was to flee. Normally, this certain number was around 20-30. For the obvious reason, he had to heel over half of that number.
If he could use his telekinetic powers, Derek could at least fight them unscathed, inflicting deadly damage with each attack.
He couldn't help but laugh bitterly at the funnyness of the event. His conflict with the Quilette wolves could be described as follows:
A man with a gun at his waist met some thugs who were disturbing to him. He did not reason with them because he was in a bad mood. He threw a few punches at them, not caring whether his gun was loaded or not. When he let his anger out, he would use his gun and scare them away.
But which is what?
There was no bullet in his gun.
For Derek, it was like that analogy.
He wouldn't be in this situation right now if he hadn't started unnecessary conflict and left the area immediately. Unfortunately, the young man had put too much trust in his telekinetic powers. But this situation was not in the hands of the black wolf.
While fighting supernatural creatures, he was basically fighting with his telekinesis in human form, not wolf form...
Unfortunately, in a way that he could not understand, the powers he had been using for a year were unresponsive to the calls of the young man.
It was like being unable to move his arm because it was numb. He forced himself to concentrate on the situation he was in as his thoughts drifted elsewhere.
Despite all the wounds and pain in his body, Derek continued to run away from his pursuers at full speed. The black wolf did not slow down even though he knew he was approaching the steep mountains.
He knew he had only one chance. If he could gather enough momentum and make a powerful leap up the mountain, he would be able to get rid of his pursuers.
Derek prayed to God in his heart as at the sight of the hard rocky mountain range grew every moment. He knew that if he made the slightest mistake, he would not be able to escape the sharp fangs of the wolves that were chasing him relentlessly.
So, ignoring all the pain in his body, he gathered all the momentum he could and tried to leap up the mountain with the help of his strong legs.
Unfortunately, luck wasn't on Derek's side that night.
Despite making a nice jump and jumping twice on the flat ground and pushing himself up, the black wolf couldn't hold on to the hard stones and fell clumsily from a height of 20 meters, hurting his right front leg.
' FUCK ! FUCK ! FUCK ! '
The werewolf got up helplessly, knowing that he had wasted his only chance...
He was injured... he was tired... and he couldn't use his powers...
The young man looked at them, feeling the Quilette wolves surrounding him. At the front was the alpha, which he had wounded in the neck. Feeling his gaze, the brown Alpha moved a little closer to the wolves around him.
' Coward,'
Derek thought to himself. He was surrounded by more than 10 giant wolves. He was crippled and exhausted. But Derek was still able to stand bravely and challenge his enemies.
Knowing that he must fight if he is to survive, Derek snarled and defied the wolves.
He didn't know if there was any use in looking dangerous and vicious. But at least intimidating their enemies before starting a battle might scare some away. He's like a clumsy alpha.
Unfortunately, not all wolves in the wall were like their alphas. The more dashing and brave ones among them were already approaching the wounded wolf, trying to nip it.
Derek closed his eyes, trying to focus on his telekinetic powers for the last time.
The 3 wolves, who took the opportunity to close his eyes, jumped at the same time and attacked him. But when Derek opened his eyes again, something strange happened.
The black wolf's eyes seemed to glow with a blue fire then the airborne wolves were hurled back in a wave of blue energy and fell to the ground.
All the wolves were briefly shocked by this event. Seeing his comrades lying on the ground groaning in pain, a number of seasoned members of the pack who came to him howled, awakening the others. As they all focused on the black stranger wolf again, their alpha howled the order: All of you attack!
Derek, who was finally able to use his powers, laughed sharply. 'Come on, flea bags... Now it's time to tease...'
The young wolf didn't even look at the fawn wolf that leapt from the far right and attacked him. With a single burst of energy, he sprang back like his previous followers...
Looking at the remaining 9 wolves, he grinned savagely and attacked the black wolf. Larger than a normal wolf, he looked really frightening because of his wounds, his blue glowing eyes.
So the two foremost wolves hesitated for a moment. And their hesitation turned into a painful groan from two sharp claws.
'There are seven flea bags left. ' thought Derek.
Dodging the sharp teeth that attacked the leg he had hurt while falling, he grabbed the sneaky wolf's neck with his mouth and threw it at the other two wolves.
'Now four…'
Surprisingly, the cowardly alpha was the first of the four wolves to attack him. Derek took her attack head-on. The heads of the two giant wolves collided simultaneously, but it was alpha who groaned and backed away.
The other 3 wolves attacked him with a snarling due to the brave move of their alpha. Likewise, other wounded wolves...
Even their youngest, inexperienced alpha, could attack if they could attack without fear.
Derek watched in amazement as the alpha's attack had such an effect. The wounds he inflicted were not fatal, but he had struck places that were painful enough to suppress their will to fight.
Each of his blows was cleverly thought out and executed. But fights were not always won with logic. Faced with more than 10 wolves once again, Derek couldn't help cursing himself.
The wolf fight was like this... It would go on until either side could not fight.
Derek didn't want to inflict more dangerous blows on the Quilette wolves. Maybe because of Billy, maybe because they're just teenagers trying to defend their territory...
The young man did not know how many mistakes this would be today. He swore again as he lost himself in thought and realized that he had taken two blows. Fortunately, his shield absorbed the blows, preventing him from being damaged.
Normally, he would act calmly and leave the area without fighting with the wolves. If war was inevitable, he would not pity his enemies, he would not think of the damage they would take. But most importantly… while he was fighting, Derek wouldn't let anything distract him.
The black wolf was once again in trouble because of all the stupid mistakes he had made. He had lost a lot of blood while fleeing and fighting due to the injuries he received from the previous fight. The young man felt incredibly exhausted.
But what really forced him was the pain... The horrific repercussions of his wounds... He had never been so injured in any previous battle, Derek. He had never been in such a bad situation. Neither physically nor mentally...
That's why the young wolf couldn't react as the brave members of the Quilette pack attacked. It cost him two painful blows that the shield couldn't block.
This time it was the opposite of what had happened before: the injuries he received did not lessen his anger, but rather increased it.
Only this time, his anger had served him well... He attacked more brutally as his enemies attacked. When he took one bite of them, he gave two bites... When he took a paw hit, he returned two claws...
Unfortunately, his enemies were really crowded.
Derek hadn't noticed, but more wolves from the Quilette tribe had been sent as the six wolves who had come as reinforcements in the area did not return. Thus, the number of wolves that the black wolf fought increased over 20.
This number was a crowd that the young man would choose to retreat to even when confronted in his perfect form. But Derek was fighting like he had sworn to fight until he was one of the last survivor, mad with anger and pain.
He didn't take the many escape opportunities that came his way, so... He fought... He fought... And he fought... until his enemies bowed in fear and retreated one by one.
The Quilette wolves fled in fear from the mountain range and the alien wolf. Although their numbers were 20 times his, the black wolf fought bravely, earning their respect and fear.
Realizing that further fighting would indeed result in the death of the tribe members, the alpha gave the order and they retreated...
Fortunately, the beast wolf did not follow them.
In fact, Derek couldn't do it even if he wanted to. The number of wounds on his body were too numerous to count. He had received dozens of blows, large and small, most of them leaving scars on his body...
His mind was clouded by the loss of blood, the injured wolf was trying to walk, staggering… Actually, he himself did not know where he was going. But he understood that if he stayed here alone, he could die from his injuries.
That's why the warrior wolf walked with the last shred of strength inside, trying to ignore the pain he suffered...
I read in the comments that Derek was criticized for being weak, so I felt the need to explain. Derek is not weak, but rather strong. He's not strong enough to fight an army alone right now to keep the story flowing. But he will get stronger in the future...
Also in my story Quilette wolves will be stronger and more numerous than normal wolves. Therefore, it is not possible for me to write a case where they all escaped with one blow of Derek.
Your nice comments keep me going on this story, so don't hold them back from me...
