บท 29: Chapter 29: Gaslighting Sylvia

'Now let's go and see our dear Sylvia.'

Finding Sylvia was a breeze thanks to my bodyguards, who were stationed outside the hospital.

Under a tree, she was seated on a bench.

Her legs were folded on the bench, and her head was buried in the cocoon of her arms.

A pole lamp brightened the area around her.

Looking at this sight, I knew that an opportunity had come.

So I first sent the reluctant Charlotte back to the car, bought a bottle of Ice Tea from the nearby vending machine, and then went up to Sylvia.

Without a word, I set the Ice Tea down on the bench, sat down next to Sylvia, and wrapped my left hand around her as I pulled the girl into my arms.

"Let me go!"

In response to my sudden actions, Sylvia yelled in a hoarse voice and struggled to get away.

"It's me."

But hearing just two words of mine, all her struggles came to a halt.

Immediately, as if her body had lost all strength, she collapsed into my arms, burying her head in my chest.

Sniffing and crying profusely.
