Her arms sought Dimitri, needing and craving him the way she needed and craved sunlight or books or water. She needed to be close to him right now. Closer than she'd ever felt to anyone. How could she not hold him and comfort him?

She felt closer to him than ever before, even despite the flagrant, shocking performance she'd participated in last night. They were partners in crime. Outlaws. He was Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. He was a royal highwayman. He was a rogue, a rebel with a cause.

Clearly, except for the twenty people last night who had let paranoia get the best of them, he was beloved by people in this city. 

He stood against tyranny ... and it was a personal stand. Deeply principled, yet driven by grief and anger.
