บท 134: Anti-Veil Potion

The night after the family dinner was darker than usual, the twin moons of Geneva hidden behind thick clouds. Lyra walked through the dimly lit halls of the Nightfall Mansion, her mind racing with thoughts of the evening's tense discussions. As she reached the end of the corridor, she felt a presence behind her.

Sophia stepped out of the shadows, her eyes burning with disdain. "Your potion is stupid, and Dante has always been a human sympathizer. Our parents tolerate him since he is the heir to our father's legacy. Don't put your hopes up. And I still hate you for what you did."

Lyra swallowed hard, feeling the weight of Sophia's words. She knew the power Sophia was capable of wielding and understood the importance of not getting on her bad side. "I'm sorry, Sophia," she said quietly, trying to defuse the situation.

Before Sophia could respond, Dante appeared, his presence immediately calming Lyra. "Sophia, leave her alone," he said firmly, placing a protective arm around Lyra's shoulders. "She's done nothing wrong."

Sophia sneered but retreated into the shadows without another word.

Dante turned to Lyra, his expression softening. "You did an amazing job out there."

Lyra shook her head, frustration evident in her eyes. "No, we didn't. They don't even take us seriously."

"Yes, they do," Dante insisted. "And if they don't, I do. Our research is important, Lyra, and it will change everything."

As they walked together, Lyra couldn't help but notice the numerous Sanguines moving around the mansion, their presence a constant reminder of the dangerous environment she was in. Despite Dante's good intentions, she knew the Nightfall Mafia was not a place where she would ever truly be welcome.

When they reached her room, Dante kissed her gently on the forehead. "Get some rest. We'll continue our work tomorrow."

Lyra nodded, forcing a smile. "Goodnight, Dante."

Once the door closed behind him, Lyra let out a deep sigh. She knew she couldn't stay in the mansion forever, no matter how much she cared for Dante. She needed a way out.

Determined, she sat at her desk and began scribbling notes for an escape potion. Her mind raced with ideas, drawing from her extensive knowledge of alchemy. The potion would need to break through Dante's shadow veil and create an opening from his father's domineering and protective shadow aura.

As she worked, her thoughts drifted to her friends Elias and Clara. She wondered if they were okay, if they had managed to stay out of trouble. The thought of them gave her the motivation she needed. She had to escape, not just for herself, but for them as well.

Hours passed as she meticulously planned every detail of the potion. She gathered ingredients from her personal stash, careful not to arouse suspicion. The potion would need to be powerful and precise, capable of countering the formidable Sanguine abilities she was up against.

By the time the first light of dawn began to creep through her window, Lyra had a plan. She would test the potion in secret, ensuring it was foolproof before making her move. The risk was immense, but she knew she couldn't stay in the heart of the Nightfall Mafia any longer.
