Irene sighed and held her head as soon as she closed the door. She gradually slumped on the floor as she knew what her boss was going to do Eungoo. She didn't like the way Yejun handles everything especially when he has a super bad temper; it was terrifying. However, she needed to make a choice; it was the other maids or him.
"What are you doing?" A man in his mid 30's spoke which caught her attention right away. He was bald and had a thick Russian-like mustache. He had black buttoned-up long sleeves with slacks to go with.
Irene looked at him as she felt herself tear up. "Did you think it was a good idea to… drag the kid back here in his office?" Her voice was raspy like she hadn't used it for days.
"Well, you know…" The man began and slowly crouched down to meet her eye level, feeling a little bit sorry for her. "You and I know that under all that exterior of his… under all of that name… the Golden Dragon Family façade… He's still the same man that showed me kindness and I know that he showed you some as well."
'It's true' she thought as she then remembered the time when she was about to be sent to the orphanage the day she lost her mother. She was so scared that she was going to be alone. She didn't want to have a 'new set of parents'. She wanted to always remember the smiling faces of her mother and father.
She remembers it clearly, the day when a police officer turned up later around the golden hour of the late afternoon. The man was tall and had casual clothes, wasn't exactly paying any respect to her dead mother. She pleaded with him to let him stay for the night one last time because she knew that she wasn't going to see her mother forever. Despite Iren thrashing around, she was picked up effortlessly by the man. Her screams and pleads were something that somehow was muted to the officer as he continued to drag her away from her mother's tombstone. And like an angel that came down from the heavens, Park Yejun appeared with the sun behind his back. His following actions surprised all of them.
Yejun at that time was around 14, four years older than Irene. He wore an expensive suit with his hair pushed back and emotionless eyes. He then threw a couple of spear-pointed knives at the man. The police officer screamed in pain and releasing little Irene in the process. The little girl ducked down and cried some more. Yejun didn't waste anytime when he saw the man with two hits on his right shoulder and right hand was beginning to pull for his gun, he threw one last blade at him. Headshot.
Irene screamed when the man fell behind her. And when everything was all too quiet she slowly lifted her head and saw Yejun holding out his hand for her to take. Yes… it was the kindness and warmth that was offered to her that she will never forget.
"I called in a cab for you" Irene smiled as she was brought back to the present. The man was right, Yejun was still the same person as he was years ago and their loyalty will remain as well.
"Thank you." She smiled as she took the man's offered hand to help her get up from the floor. He then accompanied her out of the building and made sure that she got on the taxi safely.
She let out a sigh of relief and reassured herself that Yejun knows what he was doing. All she needs to do now is to support him and believe in the man that saved her life years ago. And besides, someone special was waiting for her at home.
MEANWHILE…
Kwan momentarily passed out during his 'punishment' due to exhaustion. He was currently in Wonshik's car at his passenger seat. His eyes were glued to the window. He has been silent the entire ride.
Wonshik tried to make a conversation by asking if he still wanted to attend his classes. He closed his lips and decided not to ask such things since the man just witnessed his best friend being fucked over a desk. He just sighed instead and drove the older home instead.
He glanced at his watch and realized that it was already rush hour so they caught up in traffic. He noticed Kwan was hugging himself and his bag as he faced the window. Wonshik could tell by the reflection of the other through the glass window, that Min Kwan was in a state of shock.
'Did I overdid it?' he asked himself, wondering if the punishment was a little over the top. He chewed on his lips and reached for the backseat where he kept a weighted blanket… for other purposes. He then laid it out on Kwan and made sure he was tucked in.
When Kwan still didn't move an inch, Wonshik drummed his fingers on his steering wheel and bit his lips. He was then further analyzing the situation. He looked back at Kwan and thought that his birthday might have sucked big time. He felt somewhat responsible for this since he did make him watch. He pulled his own hair feeling defeated and annoyed by the fact that all he wanted to do was surprise Kwan but was ruined by everything that went down from earlier.
6:14 PM. His digital clock from his car showed. He still had a few remaining hours till the end of his birthday. He looked around and saw how his car was squished in this traffic. He sighed and clicked his tongue, feeling agitated.
Kwan noticed this too but kept quiet and was eyeing Wonshik through the window glass. He then chewed on his own tongue as he got a little dizzy by the younger's sudden movements.
Just when the car in front of them moved forward Wonshik yelled, "Ahhhh Fuck it!" before turning the car and sped in the opposite direction.
Kwan widened his eyes and looked at Wonshik for a brief moment before turning his head away so that the other wouldn't notice him. But it didn't go unnoticed at all for the driver; he noticed the blushing cheeks up until his ears. Wonshik thought it was the most adorable thing ever.
He then decided to bring Kwan back to his home. He couldn't let him sleep alone in that poor excuse of an apartment. He couldn't let him be alone in that shabby, sketchy, 50 square meter-
"Where are we going?" Kwan suddenly asked. He couldn't help but wrap the weighted blanket around his body for comfort.
"H-… My house." Wonshik gulped at how he almost slipped into saying 'home'… wishing that he could freely say that.
Kwan hummed in response and began to doze off once more. Wonshik chuckled quietly and cooed at him. He didn't think he'd find someone that was actually this cute and adorable.
A few minutes later, they've arrived at Wonshik's mansion. He got off at the curb and gave his keys to one of his men and ordered him to park his car in the garage. He then went to the other side and carried Kwan in his arms carefully so that the other wouldn't wake up… but failed.
Kwan jolted awake and looked around. He froze when he realized that he was being carried in a bridal style by the second person that he hates the most, the first being Park Yejun. He began squirming and tried to get off but Wonshik held him firmly.
"You can rest…" Wonshik said. Kwan didn't put much of a fight and stayed still. He didn't talk much after that which was fine for Wonshik.
Wonshik wasted no time and went straight to his bathroom then placed him on the countertop and began to prepare the bathtub. He placed a purple bath bomb in the tub and began lighting some candles. Kwan watched at the aesthetic bubbles on the tub. For a moment, he thought that this stupid boss of his was a romantic.
"Wanna do it yourself or?... " Wonshik trailed off and wiggled his brows knowingly at him. This made Kwan kick him in which he caught his ankle effortlessly. "Don't take too long in here while I make dinner."
'You cook?' Kwan thought.
"Yes… I cook" Wonshik smiled and ruffled Kwan's hair before leaving. He then heard a soft 'fuck' before closing the door and leaving him be.
Kwan sighed and began to undress with a mental note telling himself that maybe Jeon Wonshik wasn't so bad after all.
HOWEVER…
There was also one person that wanted to surprise Min Kwan on his birthday. A 5'9" man with chestnut-colored hair entered Kwan's apartment with his suitcase on his right and a blue medium-sized teddy bear by his left. He found it rather odd that Kwan wasn't home this late. He sighed and placed the bear on top of the table left it along with a note saying…
"Hey, Kwanie… I'm home..."
