Charlton was seating in front of the table in his study, twirling a glass of whiskey in his hand, his mind still filled with the image of Serena. The look on her face when he practically stepped on her being. He should feel refreshed, liberated. He has been able to enact his vengeance against her completely. However, as he sat there, his stomach churned as he second guessed himself. Should he have softened his stance? Should he have taken her back? Serena's words lingered, but then again, she always twists her words to her own benefit. Yes, twisting the truth that even she believed whatever she was saying.

God fucking damn. He did not intend to humiliate her as much as he did but when she lied to his face, something in him just snapped. Outraged but not knowing to whom to direct it to, he hurled the glass he was holding towards the door before taking the bottle of whiskey and chugging it down.
