บท 15: Genin Time

Academy: Final Year; Genin Exams

During my time in the Academy I hid my true self, only having shown it to the top brass of the village that one time and making it seem like the derpy, loud, annoying and determined personality was my mask to stop myself from being traumatised.

During my years in the academy (and prior to it) I had been given copies of the different techniques of every clan in Konoha. The stolen jutsu of the Uchiha (thankfully obtained before the massacre), the shadow control of the Nara, the Mind control of the Yamanaka, the Bug control of the Aburame, the flowery Jutsu of the Hyuga, the beast Jutsu of the Inuzuka, the Genjutsu of the Kurama, the body jutsu of the Akimichi, the Onikuma's Jutsu and the Hatake's kenjutsu.

I had taken to wearing the blinding orange suit of the original, and attempted to emulate him, in an attempt to seem weaker to the civilian side of the council, which despite being composed of civilians, still held sway in the Shinobi corps.

Unlike the original I planned to pass the final exams, and didn't like the pink banshee, and knowing about Mizuki's plot I would take him down, gaining greater rapport with the higher-ups.

"Ok, Yami! It's your turn to perform the three basic jutsu."

"Ok, Iruka sensei!" I step up to the front of the class, substituting myself with Sasuke, then back, turning myself into a perfect copy of the Hokage and back, and finally using shadow clones.

"Impressive show of skill Yami! You pass the Ninjutsu potion with flying colors."

A few minutes later

"Ok class, it's time for the Taijutsu portion of your exam, we will pair you up so that you can demonstrate your prowess."

"First up extra 1 vs Hinata Hyuga", "3, 2, 1, Go!" that being immediately followed by the crumpling of extra 1 after Hinata disabled his tenketsu. "Hinata Nokachi" (Hinata Winner)

"Next up, Ino Yamanaka and Sakura Haruno." "3, 2, 1 and... Go!" The two fan girls duke it out, and by that I mean put up a pathetic display, movements slow and sloppy, centre of gravity off balance. It finally ends in a draw.

Then goes Shino, Shikamaru, Choji, Sasuke and finally me and Kiba.

The fight was short, with me absolutely demolishing Kiba. The rest of the class and the instructors look on in surprise as the last place, seems to be doing an excellent job at the exams that he usually barely passes.

The Shuriken and Kunai throwing was more of the same, getting better marks than anyone thought possible for me.

At the end of all of this I get my Headband. In the corner of my eye I see Mizuki clenching his fists and gritting his teeth, although not excessively.

Later that night: Konoha Forest

I was right, the rat was stealing the scroll at this very moment, I wasn't interested in the scroll itself, I was more interested in Mizuki's knowledge as he has recieved the first form of the cursed seals from Orochimaru and that is something I am very keen to get my hands on.

"Mizuki sensei! What a coincidence, do you come here to train at night too?"

The traitor smirks, approaching me before rapidly throwing a windmill shuriken at me. "Get ready to die demon!"
