บท 21: Nen
As a day passed Hiko felt his Nen grow stronger, using Zetsu and Ten became as easy as breathing, when Hiko really pushed himself his Nen could cover nearly half the boat. Inside his mind's eye, Hiko looked at the thick bubble of energy surrounding him, ' I want to master the basics of Nen before we find Arlong, Ren is probably going to be the easiest I just need to project my Nen explosively. '
Taking a deep breath Hiko exhaled as he Nen exploded outwards, Nami and Alvida watched the water started to ripple violently away from the boat.
Hiko was able to hold ren for five minutes before a wave of fatigue made him lose concentration, it was longer than he expected it took Killua and Gon one month to keep their ren up for ten minutes. Resolving himself Hiko rested for a minute before using ren again, repeating this over and over Hiko was able to keep his ren active for six minutes after six hours of training.
As he was resting Hiko thought about what his Hatsu or Nen ability should be, ' I don't need one right now I should move on to the advanced techniques. ' Recalling the anime Hiko remembered the seven advanced techniques, En, In, Ko, Ken, Gyo, Ryu, and Shu.
All of them were advance applications of the four basic principles the first one En was a combination of Ten and Ren, the goal was to create an area that was covered in your aura that was at least 2 meters in diameter and hold it for one minute.
Using ren first Hiko made his nen expand before applying ten slowly coaxing his aura to form a sphere around him, Hiko breathed in sharply as his sense expanded to cover the entire area around him. Nothing was able to escape his notice, Hiko could see everything from every angle inside his bubble after keeping that way for a minutes Hiko dropped his barrier as his awareness slowly returned to normal.
Trying again Hiko used En for two minutes greatly taxing him, trying again Hiko expanded his En as far as it would go. The total distance was ten meters but he could only hold it for a few minutes before the bubble would pop.
As his Nen came back to his body Hiko forced the energy around his eyes leaving none for the rest of his body, opening his eyes for the first time in hours Hiko looked at Alvida and Nami while using Gyo. Hiko was able to see that both women had Nen in their bodies leaking off of their heads, closing his eyes again Hiko stopped his use of Gyo.
Moving on Hiko pulled in his Nen like he was using Zetsu but any Nen master would see that Hiko's Nen was still moving meaning he was using In. In allowed a nen user to conceal their nen and use it. Hiko would be praised as a Savant if his talent became known, learning most applications of Nen in less than a month was unheard of. Not stopping Hiko used ten and ren to form a dense aura around his body this was Ken a purely defensive use of Nen covering the entire body, but it consumed a large amount of nen to maintain luckily that wasn't a problem for Hiko.
Still keeping up Ken Hiko moved most of his aura around his fist, slowly punching forward the air exploded in a shockwave. Not noticing Alvidas and Nami's shocked expressions Hiko opened his eyes as he stood up, " How much time has passed since I've sat down. "
Nami was still shocked when Alvida stepped forward and bowed, " It has been about a day and a half since you started meditating Master. " Stopping his stretching Hiko stalled when Alvida called him master, looking over his should Hiko stared at Alvida, " Why did you call me Master. "
Blushing Alvida fiddled with her hair, " You said I belong to you, so it only makes sense that I would call you master. " Hiko looked over at Nami, " This is your doing, the last day she's been challenging me for the right to be your first wife. After the tenth fight, it got repetitive, if you want to claim her go-ahead. "
Hiko was even more surprised at Nami's dismissive attitude, seeing his look Nami grinned, " I made peace with it I just have to make sure I'm strong enough to beat anyone who thinks they can push me to the side. We do have to get a bigger boat soon there's no room on this thing. " Nodding walked over to the nearby table taking an empty cup and filling it to the brim with water, " What are you doing Master. " Not turning away from the cup Hiko absent-mindedly responded, " Just testing something. " Focusing his Nen on the cup Hiko watched as the water in the cup started to churn before it turned a dark red, grinning Hiko thought he was an emitter when the water formed a mouth lined with shark-like teeth. Taking his hand away from the cup Hiko watched as the water turned back to normal, ' So I'm a specialist. '
" What are you doing. " Nami looked over his shoulder to see the water was slightly red, standing up Hiko shrugged, " Something I'll teach you later. How far are we from Arlong. " Nami was silent for a second before she responded, " A two days at the most. "
" Good that should give me enough time, for what I need to do. "
