Two years later.
Settling in another city allowed Chanmi to start her life anew. Too much had happened in that place, she had suffered too much. Since she moved to Incheon two years ago, everything has changed.
For a year, she took care of her brother, who was on the verge of a mental breakdown. That evening, when he was about to propose to the love of his life, became his biggest nightmare. He lost his beloved, was kidnapped by his former fiancée and was imprisoned by her in her apartment for a week.
It turned out that Yeeun was mentally unbalanced. After all, a sane person would not be able to kill another person out of jealousy. She committed something cruel, thereby affecting Jin's health.
It took a long time for him to receive psychiatric treatment before he recovered. Mostly for his sake, Chanmi decided to move out of that city so that he would not be reminded of what he had experienced.
For several months, Jin no longer resembled a zombie, and began to function normally. Completely abandoning the past, he started all over again. He found a job as a sales representative, so his earnings were good enough for him to lead a quiet life.
Despite everything, until now, he did not trust women. Some kind of phobia remained in him that prevented him from opening his heart to someone who was interested in him. Perhaps it was still too fast and he needed more time.
Chanmi also took a job. She was an office worker, where she had previously completed a six-month internship.
As for a roof over her head, she didn't need to rent anything. She had a rich guy who provided them with luxury by buying a house in a secluded lakeside location. It was one-story and extremely cozy. In the summer, she loved to spend time in the garden, reading books.
Jungkook came to town on weekends, as he was in Seoul during the week, taking care of his father's company. Things were going well, as he was soon to move the branch to Incheon.
Their relationship had ups and downs. This was normal. Chanmi by was now laughing at how long Jungkook had been trying to win her over. She finally let him go when she realized that by tormenting him, she was suffering from it herself.
She fell in love with the bastard, and the longer she was with him, the more grateful she was to herself for giving him a chance. He really was a great guy. First impressions could always be misleading because currently she didn't know anyone more caring and considerate than him. The only flaw he possessed was jealousy. With this he sometimes exaggerated, but she was used to it and figured it might have been one of his charming sides. After all, no one pouted at her as sweetly as he did.
She stretched on a chair in the garden, and then a wide smile appeared on her face as Jungkook crossed the gate door. It was Friday evening, it was approaching 8pm, and just as he had promised, he showed up every minute.
She ran up to him and hung onto his arm, kissing him on the lips like crazy.
- I think you missed me a lot - he spoke up, hugging her close.
- Yes, because I couldn't hug you when I came back from work after a hard day. This week has been a nightmare.
Jungkook smiled at the corner of his mouth and looked at her with tenderness in his eyes.
- I am lucky to have such a sweet girl.
- Remember, you owe it solely to your brother.
He kissed her on the forehead, and she looked at him with happy eyes.
- Should we celebrate my return? - He lifted her up, and she entwined her legs around his hips.
- We do it, every week - she whispered in his ear, giggling shyly.
- So this is our tradition.
Her laughter echoed as Jungkook carried her into the house, closing the door behind him.

Three weeks later.
On a sunny afternoon day, Chanmi invited her brother to a barbecue, intending to gossip with him since they hadn't had a time to get together recently. The young man bought a beer on the way, wanting to relax properly.
He didn't understand why his sister was saddened at the sight.
- What's going on? - He asked puzzled.
- This will be the first time I've had to say no to alcohol.
Seokjin furrowed his brow, still not understanding what she was talking about.
- Brother, this will be the first news you will hear from my lips even before we sit down to eat grilled sausages. - A slight smile appeared on her face. - Somehow it just so happened that you will be an uncle.
He looked at her like an alien, trying to assimilate this information rather quickly.
- What, so on "good morning" you tell me that this damn asshole impregnated you?
- Brother! - She admonished him, punching him in the arm. - Don't refer to it that way. Besides, he's gotten enough from me. All the news today is curses directed toward him. When I saw the positive test, the devil entered me.
- How did he react? After all, you are not even engaged.
- Surprisingly, he was pleased. He is so happy that he didn't even react to my challenges.
- I am happy if you are happy - Jin announced, hugging her back. - I just hope the child won't have a stubborn father figure.
Chanmi laughed at these words.
- Let's keep it between us, but I'm hoping for that too.
- When is Jungkook coming back? Will he come only on the weekend?
- No, he will be tomorrow. After this news, he is unable to focus on the company. He stated that he needs a break to take proper care of me.
- He would only try not to perform his duties.... - threatened Jin. He stroked his sister's hair, looking at her with happy eyes. - I'm glad that after all you've been through, you can finally lead a normal, happy life.
- Time will come for you too, brother - she said, capturing his hand.
- You know... a few days ago, Jieun called me. I wondered for a long time whether I should take the call from her, but she is my sister, after all. I wanted to hear what she had to say. - Jin raised his face and looked up at the sky. - Mother was already in such a state that they had to lock her up in a psychiatric hospital. Father had become an alcoholic since he lost his business. Apparently, they live in some kind of den, and Jieun walks on the street with her face covered because sores have covered all her skin. They are complete losers. I felt that way for a long time, too, when I lost Jisoo. Life became a nightmare for me.
The girl became sad when she heard the name of her deceased friend. Despite the passage of time, she missed Jisoo like hell. Ever since she lost her, she felt as if someone had torn off a part of her soul.
- You feel sorry for them, don't you? - She asked with tears in her eyes.
- It's a damn shame. I know they deserved it, but it still hurts my heart to remember how desperate Jieun's voice sounded.
Chanmi wiped away the tears running down her cheeks.
- Should we see them soon and help them somehow?
Seokjin shook his head.
- No. I think it will be even more difficult for us. We shouldn't meet them.
- Nevertheless, I am worried about Jieun. I know she was a terrible person, but I treated her like a sister for twenty years.
- Let's leave it as it is, Chanmi. I unnecessarily mentioned it to you - he said, putting his arm around her shoulders. - Let's enjoy what we have. Let's celebrate the new life that is growing in your tummy.

Snuggled into Jungkook, the redhead woke up in the middle of the night feeling that something was wrong. She couldn't move. It wasn't a dream. Her eyes were open, and she was in her bedroom. Beside her slept her beloved, and yet she could not speak, could not do anything. She lay in one position, watching with terrified eyes the shadow that moved on the wall. A giant shadow with horns sticking out of its head.
Her heart began to beat harder with fear, and she thought she had trouble breathing.
- This child is mine. - She heard a whisper near her ear.
She pulled herself up to a sitting position. Breathing heavily, she looked around the bedroom, but saw no disturbing shadow.
Jungkook sat down next to her, looking at her tenderly.
- What's going on? Did you have a nightmare? -he asked, stroking her hair.
- He was here - she whispered.
- Who?
- The devil - she answered in a trembling voice. - He said that the child is his.
- Calm down, Chanmi, it was definitely just a nightmare. Lie down - he turned to her, helping her lie down. - Don't think about it. It's all gone.
- Jungkook, what if it's not over, and I'm still stuck in his contract? Is that why he wants our child?
- Calm down, Chanmi. It was just a nightmare. Don't think about it - he said, kissing her on the forehead. He hugged her close, assuring her safety. - The contract has been broken. You, as well as our child, are safe. I am by your side.
Despite everything, the girl could not calm down. It was too real, it couldn't be an ordinary nightmare.... He wanted her child.
