บท 47: Seed of doubt

Samantha was still petrified as she drank the water from the tumbler. Lily patted her gently on her back to soothe her while Nigel, Itri, and the librarian looked on. 

"Do you want to tell us what happened, dear?" Lily was the first one to break the silence. Nigel's cry of relief had attracted Lily and the librarian's attention, who were searching for the girl at the lower levels in the library. At once, they had rushed to the level from where they had heard him, only to find Nigel hugging Samantha.

Though she was baffled to find her son hugging the girl, Lily was more puzzled to find Samantha aghast and lost. Her eyes kept moving towards level four, making Lily wonder what had appalled her to this extent.
