Elvira's back rested on the warm mattress where they had made love multiple times. She couldn't move. Her lifeless body had no desire to. Was there a point in listening to his answer? He had loathed the king, his family, and the court members for a long time. Why would he kneel for a woman he had only met? Tears came out of her eyes and disappeared sideways into her hairline. Maybe not even her mother, Lilith, would leave Agror's side upon discovering he was after her daughter's life to take control of a powerful object. The horror of Lilith suggesting the idea of sacrificing her child to obtain the power inside her had crossed her mind twice. Her uncle, for sure, would never allow it, or maybe Lilith wouldn't go that far herself. However, undoubtedly, her mother would let her new lover get away with attempted murder.
