บท 24: Wake Up Call
Ronin was looking at the ceiling expressionlessly. He was lying down on the bed. His hands and legs were numb. Yet Ronin could feel them. They were coming from his emotions. Emotions for Monika. He was consistently being attacked by anxiety, tension, disdainful feelings . A fear. Fear regarding Monika . Hatred towards the government and the people closer to him. A deep frustration. Every negative emotions were emerging inside him. Somehow managing himself, Ronin got up from the bed. He took a look beside the table. He couldn't see anything clearly. Because of his eyesight. They were too powerless. Without Ronin's contact lenses, Ronin could barely see upto 1.5 feet. Because he was injured he guessed that the doctors had taken out his lenses before treating him. Ronin's gaze turned to the closest table towards him. He could see a box.
Ronin understood what was inside of it.
He pushed his right hand towards the box and grabbed it. Then he opened it . He saw a pair of contact lenses and a airpod.
A flash had played in Ronin's head.

Ronin was in a hospital. Besides him was Monika. A doctor was Infront of them. A doctor who was eye specialist. He checked a few papers , signed a few and written something on it. He then gave it to Ronin.
" Your eyesight, unfortunately I'll have to say it, it's very worse. From now on, use these drops, two drop per eyes, and wear a spectacles or contact lenses."
Monika asked ,
" Doctor, are there any chances that Ronin will become blind in future by gradually losing his eyesight?"
She was shallow breathing while asking that question. Her heartbeat was racing causing a bit pain in her chest.
Ronin didn't miss the opportunity to perceive her fear and grief. Grief towards himself. Ronin sometimes couldn't but doubt himself whether he really deserved her love or not.
Ronin hold her hand. But next the doctor said something.
" No ! That's not possible certainly. Ronin had definitely a problem causing his eye sight worsening drastically. But he won't get blind. Don't worry !"
" Yeeeeeee !!!!!"
Monika shouted. She couldn't hold herself. Instantly she became happy .
" You will not get blind ! Ron !"
Her eyes were glowing. And she was rushing her words.
Ronin said while smiling,
" Calm down Miko ! Hehe"
He could clearly see through her . Their bond was that strong.
Ronin then took his medical report. They got out from the chamber while holding their hands.
Ronin had ordered two pairs of contact lenses.
" Why two ?"
Monika asked ,
" With one, I can capture anything whenever we are in need of capturing everything. With the other, I'll be seeing you for the rest of my life , only you !"
" What are you even saying??"
Even though Monika acted that she couldn't understand Ronin's word, she couldn't hide herself blushing and her red face.
" Miko ! I was talking about seeing you ."
" You'll become a stone then."
Ronin laughed and ordered two pairs of contact lenses. Then they went out.
" Are you hungry Ron ??"
Ronin instantly understood. It didn't matter whether Ronin was hungry or not. What mattered was Monika was hungry. Even though Monika and Him were the closest to one another, Ronin just couldn't understand why Monika would use indirect means of communication.
—Is it something woman loves to do ??
Sometimes, Monika would become his head, ordering him what to do. And sometimes Monika would just want Ronin to read her mind.
Regardless of what, Ronin wouldn't miss her subtle signs.
Ronin knew this. So he answered,
" Yeah. I'm hungry a lot. What should we eat ??"
" Let's eat Momos ! I know a restaurant nearby. They sell good qualities of momos."
" Sure. Guide me mam."
They went there while walking and Monika was hugging Ronin's hands all the time claiming he was her.
" Ron ! I've thought of something."
" What ?? That must be something stupid."
" No For real. That's a real thing ."
" It's unlikely I can skip that. Tell !"
" What if you don't see your wife in your first night ??? Because of your eyesight. Or imagine you catch other woman's hand instead of your wife in a mall ??"
She couldn't hold back her own laugh while saying that as if she had cracked a huge joke. Ronin laughed lightly hearing her joke. —It's as if Monika wasn't his wife !

In another busy day, Monika just came home from her office. Ronin was playing games as usual. Monike entered the house and then slammed the door before closing.
Even though Ronin was wearing a headphone, he didn't miss the sound. He knew, this time, someone's gone. She was angry. Ronin paused his game since it's a single player game with a proper storyline.
Ronin stood up and looked at Monika. She was wearing a top and a long skirt, looking like a total Queen. It's her usual dress for office. Nobody could object since it's her own father's business empire.
Ronin asked with a charming expression,
" Seems like Miko is becoming more cute today !!!"
" Shut up Ron !"
She was clearly angry. But who could stop Ronin ?
" Calm down babe. What's wrong?? What is making you too cute today ??"
" It's just a jerk who is waging war against our company. He had filled a case against us claiming something we didn't even do. "
Ronin was changing his contact lenses during that time. And he was also unplugging the computers that were unrelated with his current situation. At the same time, he was listening to Monika's problem.
Monika said ,
" This jerk had definitely fabricated things. Apparently I think He had given money to the corrupted police."
Ronin didn't say anything. He had washed his face, used gel for his hair, changed his contact lenses, took a pair of airpods in pocket, wore a watch and said ,
" Let's capture that ba*tard !"
" Yeeeee !!!"
Monika was excited. She was filled with anticipation.

Those days were.....
Ronin had recalled those memories. He was in hospital of course. He then took his contact lenses. Now he could see things clearly.
He had taken his phone to dial a number but then a guy entered the room.
" Kai !!"
" At least you are alright Ronin !"
" You saved me ???"
Ronin asked while deepening his expression.
" Yeah. Chris was going to kill you. You were almost dead. Luckily you had this friend besides you. "
" What happened to Chris ? Where is he right now ?"
Ronin calmly asked ,
" He had been arrested for his murder attempt. Police are investigating his previous records too. Don't worry."
" So . He had been arrested ? What about his goons ?"
" They were also taken under custody. "
Kai lied expressionlessly. Even if the top psychologist came, he wouldn't be able to see through Kai's lies.
Kai thought of Ronin trusting him thus he didn't hesitate to lie to Ronin.
In fact Ronin was unconscious during that time and he was taken far away from Chris.
Kai scheme was still on going.
On the other hand, Ronin looked at Kai and said ,
" Kai ! Thanks for saving me !!!"
" Hey hey, knock it off ! If you don't give me a treat, thanks won't work ."
They both laughed.
