บท 5: Visit to the Greengrass Mansion (Part 1)

On his way to the Greengrass manor, Noah wondered about how to approach Lord Greengrass. The original story only informed about Astoria, who was the wife of Draco Malfoy. Daphne was mentioned in a few spots as her sister. Based on this, in the original world, Daphne was known as the princess of Slytherin.

Upon reaching the estate, Noah observed a large standard 3 story villa, neither grand nor poor compared to the other pureblood families but it had a contrasting appearance. The cold middle age look was offset by the hearth warming sight of a large flower nursery. Suddenly the long lost system voice rang again.

"Congratulations to the host for gaining +1 magic power, +1 magic control, 1 wand shape customization card." Hearing this, Noah suddenly froze.

"Whats wrong Noah?"

To divert Amelia's attention, Noah inquired,"Aunt Amelia, why does Lord Greengrass maintain such a large flower nursery." Amelia shook her head and warned,"This is a very sensitive topic among the Pure blood families. Ever since Lady Greengrass died, Lord Greengrass has been immersed in his grief. To deal with it, he spends his time maintaining these flowers in honor of his deceased wife." Seeing that his diversion worked, Noah breathed a sigh of relief. He decided to investigate this later.

Outside the door a house elf stood outside to receive the trio. "Please come in, Lord Greengrass is waiting for you inside," said the house elf with a hoarse tone. Amelia nodded politely and let him lead them inside the mansion. Through the corridor, they observed many portraits of famous figures in the Greengrass family. The road was inlaid proudly showing off their wealth and history. A large plaque stated their family motto 'Vigilance through peace and arms.' Many armor stands and statues were shown throughout the hallway. They may appear harmless but Noah knew that some of them could be activated to protect the household in case of an emergency. It was a common practice for noble house holds but most of the defense still focused on wards and security.

Finally noting their presence, the portraits started analyzing them.

"Look at that beautiful girl"

'"Its a pity we don't have an heir otherwise we could have formed an alliance between two families through marriage,"

"The boy is pretty good looking as well. Perhaps we could try marrying him to Daphne."

Hearing this, Susan subconsciously released her raw magic power.

Everyone present was surprised. Although it isn't as monstrous as a genius, she definitely was above average in terms of raw magic power amount. Thinking that this was a magical outburst the portraits calmed down but when Susan controlled the magic power to disperse harmlessly the real pandemonium started.

"Merlin be praised, how can such a young girl achieve good control over her magic."

"Her magic power may be temporary but her talent in magic control is beyond average"

"She definitely will be an influential woman in the future"

"Her control shows her talent towards silent casting and wand-less magic."

Amelia was pleasantly surprised. She muttered subconsciously"Perhaps she will take over the void left by Dumbledore's future retirement" These thoughts were meant to be private but everyone else heard them.

Noah was shocked by the power displayed by Susan's control and magic power. Although she was a side character in the movies and books, he knew that her talent should be not this high. Perhaps he had come to an AU version of the Harry Potter world. Secretly he decided to work harder. Without the improvement today, perhaps he would be overtaken by Susan. Luckily he was the only person with a system. Or so he thought.

Susan was embarrassed for causing this whole fiasco. She didn't mean to lose control over her magic power but the comment on Noah's marriage completely shocked her. Keep in mind that she is still a chid and still is immersed in fantasies of the world revolving around them. Trying to hide her face, she blused and looked away.

Amelia finally gathered her thoughts and said," We shouldn't keep Lord Greengrass waiting. Come along now." Seeing that the topic was done, everyone stopped talking and the house elf led the way.

Finally done. Today was exhausting. Midterms are coming up and online classes have completely ruined my studies. I may delay the chapter but I will definetly update once every 3 days until November 6.
