บท 25: Chapter 25

“Close the door, Bethany,” she repeated firmly when I did not move.

Her tone finally thawed me from my stupor, and I hurried to do as I was told. Then I sat in the chair in front of her desk, waiting impatiently for her to start talking. My eyes kept dodging between her face and my clenched hands, trying not to stare at either one. I did not want her to know how much I missed her or seemed nervous around her.

For a few minutes, I felt like her sea-green eyes were devouring every inch of my body. Heat streaked through me as I easily read the lust on her face and felt the same desires rising in me.

Alyssa glanced down at the file in front of her for a few moments. When she looked back at me, the emotions were gone.

“So, I heard you got laid last night?” she spat out with no preamble.

The minute her mouth opened I could hear the irritation in her tone as if the very thought pissed her off. I winced at this anger pointed in my direction as much as I did at her words.
