Duchess Macy was silent. Her eyes widened as she tried to control her racing heart.

"Why?" tears started streaking down her face as she cried desperately. "Why do you want me to do that?"

Duke Felix did not reply right away as if he was taking his sweet time. But in the eyes of Duchess Macy, it felt like the Duke was trying hard to tell the truth but something was stopping him.

Duke Felix sighed as he said in a small tone, "I do not know how much you know, but it is true that your parents were involved in Princess Elenaor's family's death. You Uncle and Aunt were killed because of them."

As soon as she heard the words, Duchess Macy's body stiffened. She took a step back as she stared at the Duke in disbelief and questions filled her eyes.
