Chapter 60: El Cid, the Death Knight [17]
Rodrigo was overjoyed due to the Emir's help. This proved that a few days ago, when he gave the Emirs a chance, he had done no wrong!
He still felt guilty about the matter because everyone else labeled him a traitor for doing so. He partly thought that Gormez might have died because of that, due to the duel which might have drained energy out of him. But now, all that guilt vanished.
He seemed to be freed from pressure, that is until he recalled the words Ordonez had said.
All those words repeated in his mind again and again, resurfacing even if he wanted to hide them away. While he still wanted to keep the smile on his face and not make anyone worry, the mere thought about it was enough to change his expression.
It was as if an arrow had pierced his heart, making it all the more painful. But no matter what, he controlled himself, thinking that it was best to forget about it.
