Mom was reluctant to let us go. Her eyes got teary when we announced our departure. The way her eyes got blood-red might make you think we are bullying her.
"Why can't you stay for dinner? I will prepare your favourite for you, Osy. We have enough rooms should you care to stay the night."
"I'm afraid we can't stay the night, Mother. We have some things to take care of."
"But—"
"It's okay, love." Father gently ran his hand on mother's arms, "since they don't live far from us, we can visit them anything you want to."
"But that's not the same! I want to be with my grandson."
"We will come to visit whenever we are free. Don't worry, you won't miss your grandson that much." I smiled at her, however, that only caused her to glare at me.
"You think I'm happy?"
"No."
